Amy Nicholson
So afraid to dredge up debate that when Forrest is handed a mic at an antiwar rally, someone unplugs the speakers so we can't hear him - fitting for a movie with nothing to say.
Kenneth Turan
It's most successful when it is being off-center, a state of grace it doesn't quite have the nerve to maintain.
Steven Rea
This isn't the meaningful movie it pretends to be. But as a goofy entertainment that speeds through the latter half of the 20th century, stopping here and there to snap a photo or two, Forrest Gump...
John Hartl
Good as Wright and Sinise are in their roles as Forrest's near-suicidal soulmates, the movie always comes back to Hanks, and director Robert Zemeckis helps him to achieve some of his finest...
Jay Boyar
The movie's technical tricks are great fun, as is its musical soundtrack, which captures the essences of the eras it traverses. But when you come right down to it, it's the oddly magnetic...
Michael Wilmington
This tall tale may reach monumental proportions, but Forrest Gump always keeps its magical airiness and grace.

Excellent movie I love this movie and will continue to have it as one of my most favorite movies. This proves handicapped people have the potential to be good and better than the average Joe. I hate people who make fun of them. All throughout my school life I picked on bullies who made fun of these individuals. I myself was diagnosed with ADHD then mellowed out to ADD. Now I have no sign of it since I refined my cognitive ability with video games. I am majoring in computer science and will be a video game programmer.

This movie is amazing! This movie... this f**king movie... is one of the best movies of all time. I could easily describe why this movie is amazing: Story: amazing. Acting: perfect. Music: All inspiring. No wonder this movie went away with 6 oscars including best picture, and best actor. This is a perfect movie. An absolutely must see for anyone.
