Cary Darling
Frankie & Alice feels like a film that might have been groundbreaking 40 years ago but has cable-TV movie of the week written all over it in 2014.
David Hiltbrand
Berry has proven she's willing to take on enormous challenges, and she certainly exceeds her grasp here. Perhaps that's why Frankie & Alice plays more like an elaborate acting workshop than a movie.
Michael O'Sullivan
While all this channel-switching and inevitable unearthing of psychic demons generates a great awards-season clip, it doesn't necessarily lead to a satisfying drama.
Neil Genzlinger
It may be that this genre has been forever ruined, or just that it requires a more subtle hand than the one exhibited by Geoffrey Sax, the director here.
Robert Abele
Lamentably by-the-numbers, treated like an affliction-of-the-week TV movie by its eight (!) credited writers and directed by Geoffrey Sax as if he knew where commercials should go.
Kiera Evans
Horrible This movie was long, boring, and drawn out. It could've been so much more due to the material, but the main plot was drawn out far too long. The one thing I'd like to know was left open ended at the end of the movie. It was not a good movie.

Belinda's answe The baby was the love child between Frankie and the young man killed in the accident. They chose names prior to his death. They picked the name Alice if it was a girl. The irony of the southern white woman bearing the name Alice depicted opportunity, position in society at that time. Alice represented courage, strength something her stillborn would have experienced if she lived. Alice represented life on the white side of the track, offering luxury, protection as stated "you came back for me".
