Nigel Floyd
A boring revamp, with dull 3D effects, insipid teenage protagonists and only sporadically scary outbursts of neck-biting, crucifix-wielding and staking through the heart.
Keith Staskiewicz
Colin Farrell's performance as Jerry is the pulsing, stakeable heart of the movie.
Adam Graham
Farrell is all darting eyes, facial ticks and macho confidence. He never goes over the top, he's not a showy actor, but he's clearly relishing his role and eating it up with abandon. He makes this a Night to remember.
William Goss
A remarkably confident remake that boasts its own pleasures more often than not.
Liam Lacey
The new Dreamworks/Disney teen horror comedy, Fright Night, falls into the better-than-expected category.
Peter Travers
Voilà! Black magic.

It improves on the premise it has been handed, producing a modernized version of a decades-old story that's superior to its predecessor in virtually every aspect.

Very good I have not yet seen the original, but after seeing this, I'm planning to. Everyone seems to think this was a good remake, and good remakes are hard to pull off. I really enjoyed this movie, this is how vampires should be! Also, bonus points for David Tennant being in the movie!! :)
MTV vampire movie You're average modern film, spliced scenes, no plot or character development. Good vampire effects and action packed.
troublewolf I actually remember the original, so was pleased to the actor from the first get killed. But, I watched this for Tennet. Dr, Who, of course! I will admit Collin Farrell wasn't bad. I would recommend this movie, it's worth the three bucks! So there was no deep story line, you were wanting one? It's good entertainment!
Acceptable I enjoyed it more than I expected, although I did not care for Christopher Mintz-Plasse's version of Evil Ed. He was too cartoonish and over done. Loved the cameo.
What? You're worried about sexual themes in a movie with blood and gore? Another person brainwashed into thinking violence = ok and sex = horrible thing. What's wrong with the world.
Total disappointment Not even close to the original storyline. Original was clever and suspenseful. This is stupid and boring.
Great movie. I must say that I truly enjoyed this movie. A great balance of comedy, suspense, thrill and action. Overall I would recommend!!! Acting was not corny nor terrible but spot on!!!
LOVE IT.... David Tennant is the most talented, brilliant, sexy man alive!!!
Uhhh All I have to say is this. They took a movie that was both scary and funny from my early teen days and turned it into a sparkley Twilight styled movie... Can I get What is a dumb idea for 200 Alex? Sure they kept some of the horror and blood and sex from the original but seriously, vampires have an adversion to light, so why would they were glitter which needs light to function. The vampire genre is dying and the final stake in its heart is when Count Chochula starts wearing body glitter and shopping at the Gap for Emos...
Far from the original! If you're looking for a solid remake of a classic vampire film.....this is not it!! All these years, the original Fright Night had one big thing going for it....it was a completely believable story.....if vampires actually existed. This movie was Hollywood crap. Houses blowing up, people getting slaughtered...all in Vegas...common! Vampires hide amongst us to survive....joke. Very short with little scene build up like the original. Collin Ferrell was good but I was hoping for a much better story line.
Mmmmm... Collin ferral + great remake = awesome fright night.
Too much sexual themes There is a lot of them trying for a (experience) throughout the movie which is not a appropriate movie for kids of course with the blood and everything but if your an adult you'll laugh and shriek at someparts its a enjoyable movie so you should watch it
Stupid Not as bad as the original but still pretty stupid
Fright Night 2011 One of the best horror films of 2011. A lot of fun!
Griffstar This remake was horrible!!!! The acting was so dull, Collin farell was such a giveaway from jump street, the blood was c.g.!!! Cmon man!!!! It did not need to be in 3d at all!!! Everyone in the movie. Needs to kill themselves except the original. Jerry dandridge lol he needs the work lol

Picking up where the fourth entry left off, Hoffman is revealed to be a hidden accomplice in Jigsaw's grisly games of death, which look to be continued by the lawman. The plot bounces back and forth from the beginning of their relationship to the present, as Agent Strahm (Scott Patterson) delves farther into the case. Also in the cast are Dexter's Julie Benz and One Missed Call's Meagan Good as victims of another one of Jigsaw's lessons in morality.
