Did you think a second G.I. Joe movie was a good idea?
Peter Hartlaub
The filmmakers appear to have handed a dozen or so G.I. Joe dolls to a 9-year-old, watched him play for 110 minutes, and then shot a scene-for-scene remake.
Liam Lacey
What a blast G.I. Joe: Retaliation is! And then another blast, and another, in a series of concussive jolts that shred any conventional sense of story as thoroughly as anything since the last Michael Bay film.
Glenn Kenny
When it comes to big and loud, this is the movie to beat for at least this week; what makes it entertaining is its unabashed wallow in these qualities ...
Keith Uhlich
Plays like a tiresomely extended evening of channel surfing.
Tom Long
No go, "Joe."

Retaliation is less a sequel than an antidote to the calcified mound of crap that ostensibly inspired it.

Better than 1st...but... It was better than first. Tatum should have been in longer. I am a huge rock and willis fan but thought acting was subpar. Emotion displayed when duke was killed was a joke. Some stunts were way over the top or even unnecessary. Funny when willis is in his kitchen revealing all his hidden guns and none of the bowls, silverware or fruit falls out or rolls off when they lift up secret panels. All things considered it was a fun adventure movie...just don't expect and amount of realistic.

Going Backwards I liked the first one best it seemed more techy but when you're a kid that's what made the toys more fun plus not all of the original characters were back so it seemed like a different group of Joes fine to branch off but no explanation given just Duke, and he dies!?!? No way, that's like killing John Wayne and letting stumpy take over the lead role in RioBravo, it's ridiculous. The sound track lacked too in the first it got you going this seemed like afterthought. Sorry franchises like this can do better.
Action fantastic, character development ok. I wanted a break from my studies and be amazed by action sequences. Well done, with one notably intricate fight scene I have never seen before. You'll know when you see it. Character development was aimed at teen audiences but with refreshingly healthy emphasis on honor, family, fatherhood, equality of the sexes and inner strength overall. All good stuff I'd like to see more of.

This movie sucks gazelle crap Okay first of all I have to say that this movie was just awful I mean so bad that when i was finished watching it actually I cried at the the end because all the trailers made me fell so hyped that I was so excited to watch it and just let me down and so I cried it's awful.
Save your money This movie sux so bad. I mean c'mon... the Rza playing a kung fu master. Give me a break. Horrible cast of wannabe twenty something's trying to act and failing miserably. Even The Rock couldn't save this horrible movie and to top it all off they try to add Bruce Willis.... Sad attempt to make up for lack of story with high profile action heroes. Do yourself a favor and DL this from the net then delete once finished dl'ing cuz although piracy may be frowned upon and illegal so too should making crappy films.

Not bad but not so good. 1st. Movie was much better I was hoping with this cast the movie was going to be a home run what a disappointment. Poor dialog, uninspired acting and what appears to have been spending more for the named actors rather than on the movie it self. I don't know that for a fact it.just looked that way to me. If there is to be a 3rd instalment you all need to do way better so come on now Go Joe! PS This is just my opinion nothing more so plz don't send The Rock to punctuate anything because of it.

Pretty good movie It was what I expected it to be.. maybe even a little better. These one starring fools don't know what the fk they're talking about. I give it a 5 because like I said it was exactly what I expected. If you were expecting some grammy award winning movie you've obviously skipped the first movie and all the trailers. 3-5 stars easy.

ruined the original show/story Duke dies like 5 minutes in sneak eyes talks has a bad case of transformeritices the whole movie seemed rushed and sloppy left a lot of questions were left open only 2 of the Joes returned in this and one dies quickly the other has his bamf-ness thrown out all together you will regret spending money on this

Fantastic movie another score for the Joe's My only complaint about this plot was the killing off of Duke. I'm an original Joe fan and grew up with them but to see him killed off not in the middle, not at the end, but at THE BEGINNING! That was a true disappointment. With that aside overall it was an amazing action movie
