It remains an emotive, sensuous and visually arresting work despite the unnecessary tinkering.

Not the original I have to agree, original gets five stars, redoing in CGI rates only a couple stars. Why mess with one of the greatest anime movies when the original was the best.

Fail Did Steven Spielberg buy the rights to this or something? Why anyone would think splicing generically made CGI cuts into a hand drawn work of art would make it better is beyond my compression. 2.0 more like FAIL.0 The original is a work of art. This trash is a perversion of the best anime of all time. Maybe if they would have redone the entire movie and not just a handful of the scenes it might have stood on its own.

Why 5 stars for the original ghost in the machine. The animation is amazing why would you want to change it with cgi. don't understand........

Still the GitS you love. CG or no CG you get the GitS experience. It's presence certainly does not harm the film.I actually liked the CG scenes of which there are two.

My Favorite Anime Of All Time I expected it to be completely redone using CGI but it's only a few scenes. Still the best.
