As the brutality ramps up, and the story gains real consequence, for some reason, we actually laugh harder. Goon is a comedy, often a very funny one, but you might be hesitant to call it that once...
Michael O'Sullivan
[Scott] is reason enough to see the film, which otherwise is a by-the-book sports comedy.
Tom Russo
The movie's unlikely sincerity can't completely offset its ugliness for less bloodthirsty viewers, but it helps, and it does smooth over some narrative rough edges.
Mick LaSalle
The movie is harsh, nasty and vulgar like you wouldn't believe. And often, it's hilarious.
William Goss
It's an underdog story that doesn't take itself too seriously, tender as a bruise and about as blue.
Alonso Duralde
George Roy Hill's classic Slap Shot may still hold the title as the quintessential hockey comedy, but Goon certainly deserves to be mentioned in its company, juggling charm and grit and raunch and...

Wow I hate to say it and thought I would never say this: better than Slapshot. No joke. This is a true hockey movie. If you love hockey you will love this. Liev Schriber is amazing.
Good Movie Good funny movie. If you like hockey you will love this movie. The low ratings are stupid because they are based on the price and not the content of the movie. I would much rather pay $10 for a movie at home watch it with a bunch of friends and have beers then go spend $10 to $15 a person to sit in a theater I can not drink at were they screw you for soda and popcorn.
Backlot Hockey at its finest! Goon surpasses Youngblood as the 2nd all time best hockey movie, only just surpassed by half a star to the holy grail - Slapshot. Sean William Scotts portrail of a down on your luck goon is outstanding; best roll yet. Loved the true to life gritt and violence. All hail the "GOON! " Let's make the sequel - "Goons" plural.
I guess.. Hes endearing and if you like gratuitous violence It wasn't all that funny, more of a rom than com but... It was fun worth watching. Dudes will like the fights and chicks will cotton to the love story. Idk Xo Jeff 'lovits'
crap for idiots this is the most idiotic crap I ever saw about hockey. All the beauty of this game was narrowed down to fist fights only. good for idiots who never skated in they life.
A hockey comedy for our generation Finally someone made a hockey flick as enjoyable as slap shot...and dozens of great lines. I'm going to have to watch it a few times to get all of the incidental comments in the background that fly past you every couple seconds. Well done characters and it rides the line between edgey comedy and a warm hearted quirky indie. Sean Scott and Kay Baruchel are always good bit really shine in this. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Loved it... Great movie. For all you people willing to take a beating like a tank you will appreciate this movie. Price is ok. Could be better... But the movie was phenomenal. Must see for all...

Barely Watchable Had to keep from turning this one off repeatedly. Somehow I made it to the end, perhaps for no other reason than I had paid for it and had nothing better to do. Obnoxious movie with hack premise and every played out hockey cliche known to man. Many have compared it to Slap Shot and even declared it to be superior. I can't even fathom what they are thinking.
Hilarious Even if youre not a fan of hockey you'll enjoy this movie. Sean William Scott does a fantastic job as the sweet bumbling moron with a heart of gold and a fist of steel. Loved it.
Fun movie I enjoyed this, Sean William Scott did a great job very much a cross between major league and slap shot, minus a lot of the silliness. Just a good movie.
Yeah punching!!! Funny, awesome fighting, good story, very good movie for regular dudes
"..and Dougie took one in the face!" On a whim I saw this movie and fell in love. Its got the BEST one liners/ on ice fights ever. Great movie, I highly recommend you rent/buy this.
Best movie this year One of the best, and funniest, hockey movies yet. I play hockey myself and I enjoyed the little things they threw in there, the most obvious thing is not walking on the logo in the locker room
Great movie One of my favorite movies and best sport movie ever. I never thought i would say this but its better than slap shot!
Funny as hell, but not for kids This is a future classic, especially for anyone still playing in a beer league. Loosely based on the true story of a guy who is now a cop in Hanson, MA. (Note the irony there) Definitely not for kids mainly due to language. Then again neither was Slapshot.
Not enough time 24 hrs rental sometimes not enough time to watch. For $7 i should be able to take more time to watch.not always easy to watch a full movie in one sitting on a small device.

Rubber
Rubber is the story of Robert, an inanimate tire that has been abandoned in the desert and then suddenly and inexplicably comes to life. As Robert roams the bleak landscape, he discovers that he possesses terrifying telepathic powers that give him the ability to destroy anything he wishes. At first content to prey on discarded objects and small desert creatures, his attention soon turns to humans, especially a beautiful and mysterious woman who crosses his path. Leaving a swath of destruction behind, Robert becomes a chaotic force and truly a movie villain for the ages.
Four Lions
Four Lions tells the story of a group of British jihadists who push their abstract dreams of glory to the breaking point. As the wheels fly off, and their competing ideologies clash, what emerges is an emotionally engaging (and entirely plausible) farce. In a storm of razor-sharp verbal jousting and large-scale set pieces, Four Lions is a comic tour de force; it shows that - while terrorism is about ideology - it can also be about idiots.

Spring Breakers
From visionary director Harmony Korine comes a bold new vision of the seasonal American ritual known as spring break — the bacchanalia of bikinis, beach parties and beer bongs that attracts hordes of college students each year. Brit (Ashley Benson), Faith (Selena Gomez), Candy (Vanessa Hudgens) and Cotty (Rachel Korine) are best friends anxious to cut loose on their own spring break adventure, but they lack sufficient funds. After holding up a restaurant for quick cash, the girls head to the shore in a stolen car for what they discover is the party of a lifetime. They're thrown in jail — but quickly bailed out by Alien (James Franco), a local rapper, drug pusher and arms dealer who lures them into a criminal underbelly that's as lurid as it is liberating for a close-knit gang of girlfriends who are still figuring out their path. With a hallucinatory musical score by Cliff Martinez (DRIVE) and Skrillex, SPRING BREAKERS is an electrifying pop poem to girls gone wild. Harmony Korine unleashes a ferocious, feverish and furiously alive youth quake examining the sensory overload of a new generation of restless youth.
Superhero Movie
Super is as super does: Finally, the guys behind the outrageously silly "Scary Movie" franchise have used their own 'special powers' to spoof superhero movies. After being bitten by a genetically altered dragonfly, high school loser Rick Riker develop superhuman abilities like incredible strength and armored skin. Rick decides to use his new powers for good and becomes a costumed crime fighter known as "The Dragonfly." However, standing in the way of his destiny is the villainous Lou Landers. After an experiment gone wrong, Lou develops the power to steal a person's life force and in a dastardly quest for immortality becomes the supervillain, "The Hourglass." With unimaginable strength, unbelievable speed and deeply uncomfortable tights, will the Dragonfly be able to stop the sands of The Hourglass and save the world? More importantly, will we stop laughing long enough to notice?
Scary Movie 4
"Scary Movie 4", the most hilarious and irreverent installment yet with outrageous send-ups of "War of the Worlds", "The Grudge", "The Village", "Saw" and "Saw II", "Million Dollar Baby" and much more. Legendary comedy director David Zucker and producer Bob Weiss reunite to take aim at some of the best fright films, the latest box office hits, music, current events, pop culture, and your favorite celebrities. Anna Faris and Regina Hall are back as the loveable, dim-witted Cindy Campbell and her self-serving, sex-crazed pal, Brenda, respectively - joined this time around by Craig Bierko, as the cute-but-utterly clueless Tom Ryan. Together, they battle to save the world from a ruthless alien invasion.
Bernie
In the tiny, rural town of Carthage, TX, assistant funeral director Bernie Tiede was one of the town's most beloved residents. He taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Everyone loved and appreciated Bernie, so it came as no surprise when he befriended Marjorie Nugent, an affluent widow who was as well known for her sour attitude as her fortune. Bernie frequently traveled with Marjorie and even managed her banking affairs. Marjorie quickly became fully dependent on Bernie and his generosity and Bernie struggled to meet her increasing demands. Bernie continued to handle her affairs, and the townspeople went months without seeing Marjorie. The people of Carthage were shocked when it was reported that Marjorie Nugent had been dead for some time, and Bernie Tiede was being charged with the murder.
