Mick LaSalle
Depicts a side of the Iraq war, the American home front, that has been barely touched in other Iraq war movies.
Moira MacDonald
Despite the strength of the cast (in particular O'Keefe, who's making her film debut here and shows tremendous promise), it's hard to muster much enthusiasm for Grace Is Gone.
Amy Biancolli
Good intentions can only go so far.
Ben Kenigsberg
It's a narrative strategy that neither informs, challenges nor heals.
J. R. Jones
Cusack's climactic confession is heartrending. But too many other moments strain credibility.
Roger Ebert
Not a great movie, simply functional, but Cusack gives a great performance.

'Grace is Gone' works best in the quiet moments. ... Shelan O'Keefe couldn't be better ... this low-keyed weepie belongs to her.

Featuring Isaiah Washington (Grey's Anatomy), Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Shad Moss aka Bow Wow (Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift), rap megastar Lil Wayne, and Bonnie Hunt (Cheaper by the Dozen films), Hurricane Season takes an honest look at disaster and shows how heroes can rise from the most devastating of circumstances.

Inspired by an incredible true story, THE WAY BACK begins in 1940 when seven prisoners attempt the impossible: escape from a brutal Siberian gulag. Thus begins a treacherous 4,500-mile trek to freedom across the world's most merciless landscapes. They have little food and few supplies. They don't know or trust each other. But together, they must withstand nature at is most extreme. Their humanity is further tested when they meet a teenage runaway who begs to join them on their quest. A compelling testament to the human spirit, this gripping wilderness adventure is "Peter Weir at his hypnotic best" (Telluride Film Festival).

Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage to honor his son's desire to finish the journey. What Tom doesn't plan on, is the profound impact the journey will have on him. Inexperienced as a trekker, Tom soon discovers that he will not be alone on this journey.

Ginger & Rosa
London, 1962, when the Cold War meets the Sexual Revolution. Two teenage girls -- GINGER & ROSA -- are inseparable. They skip school together, talk about love, religion and politics and dream of lives bigger than their mothers' domesticity. But the growing threat of nuclear war casts a shadow over their lives. Ginger (Elle Fanning) is drawn to poetry and protest, while Rosa (Alice Englert) shows Ginger how to smoke cigarettes, kiss boys and pray. Both rebel against their mothers (Jodhi May and Christina Hendricks). Meanwhile, Ginger's pacifist father, Roland (Alessandro Nivola) seems a romantic, bohemian figure to the girls. He encourages Ginger's 'Ban-the-Bomb' activism, while Rosa starts to take a very different interest in him. As Ginger's parents fight and fall apart, Ginger finds emotional sanctuary with a gay couple, both named Mark (Timothy Spall and Oliver Platt), and their American friend, the poet Bella (Annette Bening). Finally, as the Cuban Missile Crisis escalates -- and it seems the world itself may come to an end -- the lifelong friendship of the two girls is shattered. Ginger clutches at one hope; if she can help save the world from extinction, perhaps she too will survive this moment of personal devastation.
