The screenplay is a prepubescent shambles, the direction is by acne out of disposable douches, the dubbing and looping of the songs is painfully obvious, the characterizations are generally...
James Berardinelli
Travolta is a riot. Alternately swaggering to prove his "coolness" and re-affirming his ability on the dance floor, the actor gives the kind of performance that's perfect for the role.
Michael Booth
Grease holds up for new generations because it captures the enthusiasm of youth and the vibrancy of California's sunshine-and-cars culture.

Grease has got it, from the outstanding animated titles of John Wilson all the way through the rousing finale as John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John ride off into teenage happiness.
Dave Kehr
Limp, cheaply made.
Julie Hinds
An unembarrassed movie musical, something my generation experienced only in Sunday-afternoon movies on TV.

Great movie! One of the best movies/musicals ever made. Olivia Newton John is great, she's really cute too. But of course the big part of this movie is John Travolta! He is one of the greatest actors in history, and this is by far his most well known and greatest piece of work. In all, Grease is a true classic that will never get old or ever be forgotten.
Love it! I watch this movie everyday never gets old love it & boy is Danny a babe ;D
