Sandler's films have always been stupid, but the early stuff is pretty harmless; here the jokes almost always come at the expense of someone else, the kind of needless bullying one expects of a YouTube comment section.
Wesley Morris
These movies are about four friends -- played by comedians -- remembering what it was like to be young. How much better for an audience would it be if they remembered what it was like to make comedy?
Michael Sragow
Grown Ups 2 delivers exactly what it's been advertising in trailers and on talk shows: grubby low-comic escapism.
Andy Webster
This is pap, plain and simple: scattered raunch-lite devoid of emotional resonance.
Bilge Ebiri
It makes the first movie look like The Maltese Falcon.
Laremy Legel
A movie of fools, by fools, for fools.

Awful This movie is awful. Yea there's some funny parts but you can tell that Adam Sandler is trying way too hard to trying to make this movie funny and besides that there is no plot to the story and the acting is horrid. His new movies lately aren't as good as his older movies, last movie of his I remember being good was "Just Go With It", his movies after that like "Jack And Jill", "That's My Boy", And "Grown Ups 2" Are Just Awful.
Horrific This movie has to be the worst thing I ever seen on screen I mean watching Saturday morning infomercials is more entertaining than stomaching this movie this movie is just made of random horrible comedy jokes watching the end is like trying to eat one of your grandmothers horrible dinners but you can't get up from the table unless you finish the food that's how watching this movie is

Funny movie, but not great Grown Ups 2 had some very funny points and is one of the funnier movies of 2013. However, it wouldn't be too easy to produce the 'funniest comedy of 2013' since there was a significant lack of them. Grown Ups 2 was a logical continuation to Grown Ups and picked up right where the previous left off. Adams Sandler, Rob Schneider, David Spade, and the newest addition, Kevin James are an awesome team and keep you wondering what's going to happen next. The frat boys was a bit overplayed, except for their stupid 'handshake'.

Failure to live up to first one Granted the first "Grown Ups" had its moments but it still had heart and gave you a sense of the relationship these characters had. The sequel seemed more like an excuse to cram in every SNL actor they could while subjecting the audience to a never ending onslaught of bad humor and worse storyline. In one word... Disappointed

Nearly Absent Plot Poorly Covered by Overused Humor The first movie had a somewhat engaging plot and was quite funny. This one, however, completely missed the mark. The plot was bleak; one will find oneself reassessing the reasoning behind watching this otherwise overgrown funny-YouTube-video-like waste of a couple hours.

WTH? The first Grown Ups actually surprised me because I didn't think it would be any good but it was actually a pretty good movie. Grown Ups 2 was just a disaster. It was way over the top and just ridiculous. I understand stupid funny and the whole over the top humor but this was just terrible. So very disappointed because the first one was actually pretty good.

Full of Unfunny One Liners from SNL Rejects Past Grown Ups 1 was fairly awesome. Had ALOT of laughs through that one. Plus Salma Hayek is always welcome in any movie just for her beauty alone. That being said, Grown Ups 2 was just poo. It shouldn't have been made. Adam Sandler is his usual self (yawn), as is Kevin James (tired). David Spade and Chris Rock pretty much don't say anything (kinda glad) and you can tell they are all just uninterested. Rob Schneider wasn't even in this one for some reason. At least he can play some different roles and be somewhat funny. However after inAPPropriate comedy, maybe he has no career anymore. Anyway, to sum it up: not funny, borderline turning it off unfunny, Nick Swardson gets most annoying character award, Shaq and Taylor Lautner (really?!) get the award for being the only redeeming thing about this turd. AVOID

Waste of time I really like Adam Sandler movies but this movie was terrible. Saw it in the theater and felt like I got robbed. The only funny parts were those shown in the trailer, so save your time and money and just watch that if your interested. Everything else was either boring or so ridiculously stupid it wasn't even funny.

I seen this movie Its really funny its way better than the first one lol :) this is my own opinion I love this movie I'm giving this 5 stars Adam Sandler is so funny!!! i think that adam well be able to make more better comedy movies in the future someday I think all his old movies are great but most of them are okay

When Robert and Nancy marry and move in together, Brennan and Dale are forced to live with each other as step brothers. As their narcissism and downright aggressive laziness threaten to tear the family apart, these two middle-aged, immature, overgrown boys will orchestrate an insane, elaborate plan to bring their parents back together.
