Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is, despite its trickery, that plainest and least surprising of artifacts: the work of art that is exactly the sum of its parts, neither more nor less.
Todd McCarthy
A near-perfect commercial and cultural commodity.
Jonathan Rosenbaum
I hear the J.K. Rowling books are great, and on the basis of this 2001 movie I'm ready to believe it.
What a feast for children! Long, and engrossing. Kids will love it! Wizard!
Robert Denerstein
It offers more delights than disappointments -- and that qualifies as one of the year's great reliefs.
Peter Rainer
The filmmakers want to show us a magical world that is, at the same time, wholly believable. They want to create matter-of-fact miracles, but what they end up with is mostly just plain matter-of-fact.

Completly fine for kids My real names Natalie Fish and I'm an 11 year old Harry Potter GENIUS/Freak let's get to the point here Harry Potter is my favorite series of all time and seen every one and saw the last one in the movie theater at age 10 and was perfectly fine and it became my favorite movie (2nd is prisoner of azkaban) and I think that no child over the age of six would be "confused" by the magic in it there's magic in a almost every if not all disney movies but you let them watch THEM I personolly hate cinderella

Not for kids? Say that star wars or Lord of the rings... They have powers but yet kids today grew up fine and became nerdy. You just need to explain things to the kids, but not to give up on them. This movie is amazing and its told in a way we live today but more magical. You can't just cover their eyes and make them wonder where babies comes from. Its a lack of communication from parents these days with children. Talk to them. That's the key. Why make them watch little mermaids or Disney?

The first Harry Potter My review on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint as Ronald Weasley. The film is directed by Chris Columbus and it is a great motion picture and I couldn't have been happier with the movie because the film is good and it begins at 8 part motion picture event of the year and of a generation even this movie is really fantastic any is based on the first book by JK Rowling from the script written by Steve Kloves

I love Harry Potter People say that the first two movies didn't capture the spirit of the books, but I think that they did in a spectacular way. Awesome movie.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer 's Stone Fun movie. But the streaming blew. It kept stopping for long periods of time. My 8yr old and 4yr old lost interest within a half hour.

Loved it I have gone to see every harry potter movie ever come out, on the first day in theaters. I love them and watch them all the time! THEY NEVER GET OLD! I can't believe people don't think they're not for kids, my seven year old brother watches these and loves them. Best movie ever and I think its definitely worth the money.
One of the Best Harry potter and the sorcerers stone is probably the best of the series and is totally appropriate for children and harry potter I think fits in with star wars and Indiana Jones. I have always wanted to go to Hogwarts and if you do to go on the website Hogwarts is Here. Thank and hope you enjoy the movie.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry, Ron & Hermione, now teenagers, return for their third year at Hogwarts, where they are forced to face escaped prisoner, Sirius Black, who poses a great threat to Harry. Harry and his friends spend their third year learning how to handle a half-horse half-eagle Hippogriff, repel shape-shifting Boggarts and master the art of Divination. They also visit the wizarding village of Hogsmeade and the Shrieking Shack, which is considered the most haunted building in Britain. In addition to these new experiences, Harry must overcome the threats of the soul-sucking Dementors, outsmart a dangerous werewolf and finally deal with the truth about Sirius Black and his relationship to Harry and his parents. With his best friends, Harry masters advanced magic, crosses the barriers of time and changes the course of more than one life. Directed by Alfonso Cuaron and based on J.K. Rowling's third book, this wondrous spellbinder soars with laughs, and the kind of breathless surprise only found in a Harry Potter adventure. He needs Harry to help him uncover a vital key to unlocking Voldemort's defenses--critical information known only to Hogwarts' former Potions Professor, Horace Slughorn. Meanwhile, teenage hormones rage across the ramparts as Harry's long friendship with Ginny Weasley is growing into something deeper. But standing in the way is Ginny's boyfriend, Dean Thomas, not to mention her big brother Ron. Ron's got romantic entanglements of his own to worry about, with Lavender Brown lavishing her affections on him, leaving Hermione simmering with jealousy yet determined not to show her feelings. One student, however, remains aloof with far more important matters on his mind. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts only to discover that much of the wizarding community has been led to believe that the story of the teenager's recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort is a lie, putting Harry's integrity in question. Worse, the Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, has appointed a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, the duplicitous Professor Dolores Umbridge. But Professor Umbridge's "Ministry-approved" course of defensive magic leaves the young wizards woefully unprepared to defend themselves against the Dark Forces threatening them, so at the prompting of his friends Hermione and Ron, Harry is convinced to take matters into his own hands. Meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves "Dumbledore's Army," Harry teaches them how to defend themselves against the Dark Arts, preparing the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that lies ahead.
