Gene Stout
The torturous tale of a remarkable survivor of the grunge era - the troubled but talented drummer for Courtney Love's band, Hole.
Tal Rosenberg
Choppy camerawork, sloppy editing, and lack of a coherent narrative structure make for a frustrating viewing experience.
David Malitz
Ebersole pieces things together in a workmanlike way, but the tacky supertitles and camera effects often create a bit of an amateur feel.
Lisa Kennedy
Patty Schemel "lived through this." Once you witness what that "this" was, feel free to follow that up with a "wow."
David Lewis
An absorbing, educational, sad, humorous and ultimately uplifting film that is easily accessible and entertaining even for those not familiar with the grunge rock scene, or with the considerable...
Mark Olsen
Ebersol seems uncertain throughout of what tale he is telling, whether to focus on Schemel specifically or the larger picture of the band and the moments in contemporary rock history they were all...

LEARN, FROM THE REAL DEAL........I'VE BEEN HIT TOO Take it from me, An ex-rock drummer, of semi - success, and an addict, this movie shows you the life, from all sides, especially the dark side, but in such brutal honesty, and Patty lets everyone see it, in a way that is captivating, private, beautiful and ugly.......... all in one film. Now of course, it helps if you love Hole, and their music. I love these kinds of film, and I am a huge Cobain fan, so it was great to see him, especially off stage, even for small moments, so maybe I am biased, but I but I watched it three times, captivated by Patty, her film, and her great story telling. If you love documentaries, that show you the real deal, this ain't candy coated or GLEE crap. I loved it Patty.........THANK YOU!! I loved the Seattle Scene, and the whole Grunge era, but what it really showed, is all these people were regular people, and the rise and fall of success.
You'll get it if you're a fan of Hole. If you're a Hole fan, you'll love it. I can't speak for anyone else. I thought it was amazing; the behind the scenes footage is like candy for fans and Patty's story was very interesting and provided a different perspective on a lot of things. I'm so glad this was made.
