Without any narrative heft, these sights don't last in the mind much longer than they linger on screen. And yet they thrill in short-lived bursts that Singh doles out carefully, keeping pace with the audience's appetite.
Ty Burr
When Hyperion says of one character, "His pain has just begun,'' you know exactly how he feels.
James Berardinelli
The same hyperstylized, comic book-come-to-life approach that created an invigorating experience for viewers of 300 elevates Immortals above the level of a Clash of the Titans knock-off.
Nick Pinkerton
The posters read "From the Producers of 300" and, like Zack Snyder's film, Immortals has little on its mind but conveying the buzz of martial glory.
Kathleen Murphy
This monumental tale of warring gods and men is a beautiful, dead thing, bereft of organic or kinetic life.
J. R. Jones
Singh is a talented and eccentric visual artist with no creative future in the movie business.

As mythic spectacles go, it beats Clash Of The Titans, particularly in the areas of intimidating villainy and actual Titan-clashing.

Good camera work Great detail and definition however very long and boring with about 2 really exciting, but short, action scenes. I'll just say this, the commercials had me as excited as I was going to get with this movie... You saw the commercials then you saw the best parts... As for story... Meh... Very tiny, you're better off watching Clash of the Titans.
Reminiscent of 300,But Greek Mythology style Unlike others before they haven't watched this movie more than once, ergo lousy reviews, thankfully this wasn't CGI to death, the obvious CGI to real life event is to show viewers where to focus more like old school magic tricks, the story progresses slow to explain a mans life then quickly catches up to explain the story, plot. Thankfully not a waste like "Book of Eli" A man protecting a bible boring.......This brings back memories of clash of the titans , and wraith of the titans...
Stop the haters. Ok let me say this if u like gods,Greek mythology, slow motion, extremely brutal and gory action,Mickey Rourke as an excellent villain and an incredibly epic last 25 minutes then watch this. Its a fun a violent popcorn flick so sit back have fun and enjoy the violence!!
Fantastic '-) Luved it! Luv sci-fi and the Greek myths so I enjoyed it very much and some great fight scenes I might add. My opinion well worth the 4 bucks.
Ohoo yes its LADIES NIGHT!!! Beautiful men in almost "not" fighting gear? Their gorgeous bodies not completely covered is an feast for the eyes. When they fight they are also fighting for us. Mentor knew how to dress and fight for their women, then! To see real men be men, this is a 5strar movie, great graphics, and direction as well. Its not all a meat fest....there is something wonderful for a movie goers!
Decent movie bad quality rental I am watching on the Samsung Note, and i have watched digital copies before but this.quality was poor. The dark scenes were too dark and 60%+ of the movie is not in well light landscapes. I have seen burned copies that were better quality and with a faster download time over wifi. New to Google renting so that won't happen again. Movie was decent with fast and interesting fight scenes. This is not a keep you on the edge of your seat but rather wonder how hard someone will get hit.
Clash Of The Titans ripoff Don't get me wrong the set design was good very artful looked incredible in HD but its little more then a Clash Of The Titans ripoff come on the Minotaur is no bigger then a human and the gods are small no bigger then humans as well but here the worse one the Titans the one thing in Greek mythology to be feared the most the Kracken Cronos are no bigger then humans at least in Clash the Kraken was a big as a city and didn't look like a teenage boy this movie is just silly.
Good flick, almost too dark to see! The plot and sequencer, and along with the special effects were great! The cenamatography was so dark, in order to watch scenes, and I had to adjust my settings on my HDTV to its very brightest, and then the color was washed out. Very irritating!
Hard to follow... The special effects were great. The story line however was choppy and hard to follow. I'm not sure if the story was rushed or they assumed everyone had a better grasp on the existing mythology than I did.
Lame Watch rise of the titans for a more accurate and interesting take on Greek mythology. This story was all over the place. The plot holes messed up the story. There were some cool violence scenes but aside from that the whole movie does not make any sense when you try to connect the scenes together. There was onr nice nude scene but EVEN THAT was fake (body double). Google it.
Don't Waste your time. Imagine 300 with less memorable actors, less story, and sets that never stop looking like they were made in some warehouse. It's an achievement that this movie has a plot that barely exists, yet manages to somehow make what little there is extremely hard to follow. You will find yourself 30 minutes in wondering why you should care about any of whats going on, and the stylized aesthetic doesn't do enough to make up for that fact. They aesthetic is so "300's stupid kid brother" that it often feels like a movie made for dvd. The CG never blends well with the live action sets, making the whole thing feel like a really expensive fan film. AVOID or else you will have wasted two hours and wish you had.
An 80 million dollar insult to human intelligence. I want the 2 hours of my life back I wasted on this garbage. If all you care about it pretty special effects and CGI, then by all means rate this film 4 stars or more. Excuse me if I put you into a stereotype box of "backwoods ignorant illiterate hillbilly moron with zero taste in anything and a deep hatred for thinking". This film is a condescending, insulting, mind-wasting junkfest. Story and plot is barely there. Talented actors/actresses are wasted and go unused...characters barely serve more purpose than the sets and CG...all in all this was the perfect example of big Hollywood's attitude that "if its pretty, and we put a ton in to marketing, people will eat it up no matter how crappy it is. Americans like what we tell them to like, because were filthy rich piggies and they are the mindless worms we eat". I haven't been so angry and insulted by a film...ever. Even Expendables 2 - also trash - had the decency not to take itself seriously or worry about quality or believability or even the laws of physics. And I got 30 minutes in and stopped it for being dumb. The immortals isn't just dumb, its a visual representation of the contempt and "superiority" the sociopath CEO's of JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo etc. feel at us non-billionaires.
Tarsem leads the way Best superhero movie idea yet, going back to Greek mythology and thrusting old heroes and villains into the Age of the Blockbuster. The fights like any good comic book movie are what you watch for. They start good and get better, climaxing with breathtaking spectacle and the best use of chain-as-weapon I've seen. The director Tarsem must have had fun putting his brilliant spin on Theseus and company, it shows in the breathless pace and headlong action and suspense, a more action-paced cinema than his past works (The Cell, The Fall), movies I happen to prefer but in this mode I love him just as much.
Meh I love action movies. I can suspend my desire for a great, plothole less story for 2 hours of explosions, VFX, SFX, and action. This movie did push the limits of that tho. Mediocre effects (some great shots and some blatantly rushed green screen shots...wtf?). This is a movie i might pay 4 clams to see if its projected on a big screen, good sound system, and a bunch of buddies yelling or making fun of it the whole time. If you are trying to "enjoy" a movie...keep clicking.

An Adventure I feel Immortals did exactly what it set out to be, that being, a movie that revealed how one man's determination can have an impact that'll last an eternity. The fighting and divine undertones helped develop the story as well as the main character. In terms of cinematography, I really enjoyed the transitions from scene-to-scene. They were well thought out, and kept me engaged. Also, "props" to the prop guy. This was no CGI overdoes (reference: Transformers series), but rather a film that does a superb job of walking the props vs. CGI line. Bravo to the director. My only gripe was the scoring, but I am a sound Nazi so it's almost to be expected... With all that being said I am rating this movie a 5 out of 5 stars, as Immortals does an admirable job of living up to what it set out to be. So, if you're some dude that's in his 20's, 30's or 40's and just wants to see an awesome movie where a lot of people die, then hit the "Rent" button and pop your popcorn in the microwave. Don't forget to enjoy yourself :-)
Good but coulda been better Movie was good but the endingwas weak. This had potential to be one of the best with 300 and gladiator.
Pretty good It wasn't as bad as was lead to believe it would be. There is enough action to keep you satisfied and the story is half way intriguing that you don't completely shut off. One of my major complaints was they don't use the Bow enough, I believe it is used 3 times in the entire film; that and the whole 300 mentality at the end of the film. Other than that its worth a watch.
Stay away This movie is terrible. I can't tell you enough to skip it. The plot is terrible, the characters are not remarkable, the violence and gore is extreme and senseless. It may look like 300, but it has none of the same lasting qualities of 300. In 300, you care about the people and story. In this movie, it's just a slaughterfest with loose story to tie it together. Your money will be much better spent on a different movie.

It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he.
