Jeannette Catsoulis
Rarely have so few commonplace ingredients produced so many uncommon chills.
Kyle Smith
A wicked little horror film in which nearly all of the violence takes place in your head, "In Fear" expertly builds terror out of not much more than two people driving around in a car.
Inkoo Kang
Lovering keeps "In Fear" visually absorbing through unsettling close-ups and a well-paced series of scares.
Mike D'Angelo
Imagine Funny Games (either version) without the meta-movie aspect. Even those annoyed by Michael Haneke's hectoring in those pictures must admit that there wouldn't be much left but random, pointless sadism without it.
Rob Staeger
Logic is a torch we can use to fight our fears. If it flickers only dimly here, perhaps that's by design.
Nigel Floyd
Grips like a 4x4, even as the escalating tension threatens to spin out of control.

Peter Debruge
Crisp camerawork and amplified sound yield paranoia aplenty in this sharp-looking Sundance midnight movie, making it hard to imagine another director getting anywhere near this much mileage out of three actors and a car.
User reviews
Do not be fooled by good reviews This is the Blair witch project meets the hitcher. Except those were watchable. The first sixty minutes of this nothing happens and people drive in circles ...literally. The last twenty minutes is stupid and predictable. Plus if u want an actual ending. ...forget about it. Worst movie I havr viewed this year thus far.

Nothing Left to Fear
Horror
3
The first film from music icon Slash (of Guns N' Roses fame) and the latest from the producers of THE EYE and THE RING, NOTHING LEFT TO FEAR is based on the true-life demonic folklore of Stull, Kansas. Wendy (Emmy®-Nominee Anne Heche of TV's HUNG) and Dan (James Tupper of TV's REVENGE) move their family from the big city to a sleepy Kansas town and take over preaching duties from retiring Pastor Kingsman (Clancy Brown of TV's SLEEPY HOLLOW). Unbeknownst to them, their new home is actually one of the seven known gateways to Hell. The family's quiet new beginning is savagely derailed by a charismatic but emotionally conflicted man of the cloth. Directed by the protégé of Oscar®-Winner Gore Verbinski, this heart-pounding thriller costars Ethan Gregory Peck (THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE).

Joining forces with a local military man desperately searching for his son amongst the chaos, he fights to survive, in the first zombie road movie ever.
Frozen
Horror
3
Critics have called it "OPEN WATER on a ski lift" and "JAWS in the snow." It remains perhaps the most intense and terrifying film of 2010: As Sunday evening falls, three snowboarding friends decide to take one last run down the slope. Halfway up the mountain, their chair lift stops, the lights go out, and the resort closes for the week. They are stranded, but the worst is still to come. A storm is approaching. Frostbite is setting in. And on the ground below them, a pack of hungry wolves have gathered to wait. Kevin Zegers (DAWN OF THE DEAD, WRONG TURN), Shawn Ashmore (X-MEN, THE RUINS), and Emma Bell star in the relentlessly chilling thriller from writer/director Adam Green (HATCHET) that Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News hails as "a vicious, scary and horrifying experience...FROZEN is a howling good time!"
Lords of Salem
Horror
2
From the singular mind of horror maestro Rob Zombie (HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES) comes a chilling plunge into a nightmare world where evil runs in the blood. THE LORDS OF SALEM tells the tale of Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie of HALLOWEEN), a radio station DJ living in Salem, Massachusetts, who receives a strange wooden box containing a record, a "gift from the Lords." Heidi listens and the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of the town's violent past. Is Heidi going mad, or are the "Lords of Salem" returning for revenge on the modern-day town? Costarring Ken Foree (DAWN OF THE DEAD) and Bruce Davis (X-MEN).

The Possession of Michael King
Horror

Michael King (Shane Johnson of TV’s CRIMINAL MINDS) doesn’t believe in God or the devil. Following the sudden death of his wife, the atheist documentary filmmaker decides his next film will disprove the existence of the supernatural. Michael allows demonologists to perform their darkest rituals on him knowing that when they fail, he’ll have on-camera proof that religion and the paranormal are nothing more than myth. But something does happen. And Michael is progressively consumed by an evil force that will not let go. This breakout possession thriller costars Dale Dickey (TV’s TRUE BLOOD) and Julie McNiven (TV’s NCIS).

Let Me In

Chloë Grace Moretz (KICK-ASS) stars as Abby, a mysterious 12-year-old who moves in with a man who appears to be her father (Oscar®-nominee Richard Jenkins of THE VISITOR), next door to Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee of THE ROAD), a social outcast who is viciously bullied at school. In his loneliness, Owen forms a profound bond with his new neighbor Abby, but can't help noticing that she is like no one he has ever met before.
