Like a bat to the head, it's not too subtle, but you can't help but watch.

Quentin Tarantino seems to be hanging on to a lost world of moviemaking. He may be nuts. But he's a nut who cares.

Its biggest flaw, though, for those who care about such things, may be its moral attitude. That might seem a stodgy thing to bring up in the context of a Quentin Tarantino movie, but it takes such...

Landa is such a wily and despicable concoction that, in movie terms, he's almost impossible not to like. And therein lies part of my problem with this movie.
Colin Covert
I'm tempted to say Tarantino has done it again, but I doubt anyone has ever done anything like his dazzlingly original World War II movie, Inglourious Basterds.

Complexity is Lost on Most Tarantino's masterpiece is one of many layers; for those who say "Basterds" lacks subtlety, I can only assume the intricacies of his grand design have gone undiscovered. At first blush "Basterds" may seem, a la "Kill Bill", a gory, fantastical revenge epic woven from the grainy strands of homage to spaghetti-western and exploitation films, which QT has now integrated into the war epic; and don't get me wrong, it is certainly, on one level, all of that. However, to this cinephilic endeavor QT brings a quality of writing, character, and plotting which surpasses "Pulp Fiction" or "Jackie Brown". In reading some negative critiques of the film from established critics, I noticed that their derision stemmed from that same unwillingness to look deeper into the text. For the average viewer to assume the film is undeserving of analysis is entirely forgivable, even expected; but for a critic or a film student (me), it just seemed lazy. One Israeli critic thought that "Basterds" was encouraging Jews to become the monsters they despise. In my opinion, QT has wrought the darkest desires of Hitler's victims on celluloid to say: "in revenge, still more can be lost." That's what film is for!
History... The way it should have gone down...NPFO!!! Jew bear!!! As for all the people who cant grasp the gore...dont listen to them...they are the same people who watched the passion and thought it was spectacular...maybe if tarentino would have added jesus getting whipped they would understand the visual pleasure any self-respecting nazi hating jew (which I am) or minority got from seeing nazi's exterminated...then again what do I know...schindlers list was art...this was gore...morons
Awesome This is an awesome movie; enjoyed it thoroughly and awesome pricing! Just one complaint, but not of the movie itself (5 stars for sure), I want to be able to BUY movies on Google Play.
Dissapointing The movie drags on for the first hour. This is really a 90 min films they painfully dragged out to 2.5 hours. Electric guitar riffs; really? Constant flashbacks (what they think the audience is not smart enough to know what is going on?) and B rate acting
Greatest Tarantino flick yet! At 25 cents, this is an absolute steal for one of the greatest films ever made! I've seen this movie about ten times, and still discover new nuances to Tarantinos writing and directing that make it an even richer film. I have seen it on HD on a large home system, in the theater twice, and on during travel on a small device, and QT's cinematography and storytelling still come through in a visceral way. D/l it, and if you aren't hooked at the opening scene (you will be), what is 25 cents lost?
i enjoyed it - disagree with recent neg. reviews @Troy: i watched it in 1080p, definitely isn't "only [...] low quality 480". if you like Quentin Tarantino's work in general, you won't be disappointed. if you don't, then this isn't going to excite you. he has a certainly shock and awe method of story telling, which works best with certain types of stories - this is one of those stories.
I fell asleep. As others have mentioned this movie drags out horribly. The best parts was with Brad Pitt which unfortunately is very few.
Amazing! One of the best WWII movie, and arguably the best Tarintino film! The "bar scene " is one of my favorite film moments EVER.
killing Nazis!!!! love this movie who's wouldn't want to kill a Nazi
Good Flick, Good Price Tarantino at his best. Google promotional pricing makes it a no brainer. Couldn't watch on my Android but enjoyed it on my laptop.
Holy. Crap. Probably Quentin's best work. I have seen this so many times. It blows my mind. The storyline is amazingly intense and compelling. I don't get how people don't like it.

Ong Bak 2: The Beginning
Muay Thai martial arts master Tony Jaa returns to deliver a bone-breaking barrage of knees and elbows in this action opus that finds the star not only delivering blows in front of the camera, but calling the shots behind it as well. Despite the title's indication of this film as a sequel to 2003's Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior, this movie has no narrative connection to the events of the earlier work, despite the fact that both films star Jaa.
