It's a film whose plea to the audience resembles Jobs' appeal to the crowd in that iPod-unveiling scene: "Believe this is important and exciting," it asks, "because I say so."
Christy Lemire
The irony is that a man who treasured innovation and sleek, stylish design should be the subject of a film that's so bland and bloated.
Colin Covert
Other than people who are mildly curious about the guy who put the smartphone in their pocket and the tablet computer in their knapsack, I'm not sure who "Jobs" was made for.
Bilge Ebiri
Jobs is the equivalent of a feature-length slow clap.
James Berardinelli
A missed opportunity.
Joe Neumaier
Like the man it's about, "Jobs" is thin and unassuming, but keeps surprising you with ideas and innovation.

If Jobs had been a producer on Jobs, he would have sent it back to the lab for a redesign.

Mediocre portrait I'm not a big Steve Jobs fan but anyone can recognize his visionary status and insight. Unfortunately, that does not really come through in the film in a good way. We, the audience, rather than being shown why Jobs is great are told by different characters how inspiring he is and how he is Apple, both very true statements. What is shown, is Jobs as a cruel, temperamental bully--an aspect that is true to life--that seems to do very little besides insult and yell at people; where is the magnetic personality of Jobs, his persuasive powers (described as a "reality distortion field" by many) that were able to rally so many people behind him? None of that comes through in Kutcher's performance or the narrative of the film. As a result, the film, after running for an overlong two hours, seems incomplete and bare. Very sad, this could have been a great film.
One of the worst of its kind o have seen This movie is about a man that stole ideas from others and took them and made them his own and going bad and taking money from the original company from their original product. The movie was pretty bad! The acting sucked, story timeline was bad (skipping through the years) bad choice in actors and the ending was lame! They should have put the original Steve Jobs recording. This movie was good if your a100% slaved out iSlave because its a 2 hour ad for Apple and that's pretty sad!
Touching... I barely knew any history of Apple© and this movie summed it up pretty well. I think Ashton Kutcher played a magnificent role portraying 'Jobs', even in the small details like walking like a hunchback to his denim longs. Jobs was determined to open the complex human brain from 'standard' to 'beyond'. I truly r.e.s.p.e.c.t. Steve Jobs now after viewing this. Unfortunately his company is in the hands of engineers that are not keeping his vision of making a product "different". Instead they are opting to making devices "better". This will be Apple's downfall...
Utter crap Totally missed the mark. Horrible horrible horrible. Pirates of Silicon Valley? Great! Here's hoping the next Jobs movie that is set to come out is good. Pirates is proof that you can still enthrall people with the story of computer history in the 70s through the early 2000s. Again, this movie was crap. Just crap.
Bad Steve Jobs portrayal. Horribly put together. The movie lacks a climax, the whole time your waiting for something to happen and all you really see is Steve get old. There is no insight into the man, other than he got his way easily. Then the movie ends... abruptly. Skip this one, I can't believe it's so expensive also.
Promising Movie, Falls Flat I was really looking forward to this movie, as I find the life of Steve Jobs to be downright fascinating, and his biography is a real pageturner. However, this movie just fell flat for me. Ashton Kutcher, whom I'm a fan of, looks the part spectacularly well but in general it all feels forced and at times Mr. Jobs is over-glorified. In general, this movie just bored me... Give it a watch on the Android device Mr. Jobs loathed so much during his life.
