Veteran filmmakers will warn you, don't film at sea and don't work with animals. Ang Lee built a vast tank in Taiwan and he whips up awesome storms. [However,] watching the water here is more rewarding than watching the characters.
Tom Huddleston
Flawed, yes, but marvellously ambitious, and unforgettably gorgeous to look at.
Joe Morgenstern
Mr. Lee's film is stronger as a visual experience-especially in 3-D-than an emotional one, but it has a final plot twist that may also change what you thought you knew about the ancient art of storytelling.
James Berardinelli
There's an audience out there for this movie, but the question is whether they will find it.
Dana Stevens
The movie's energy peters out in a series of book-club conversations about divine will, the power of storytelling, and the resilience of the human spirit.
Mick LaSalle
A movie that can't be dismissed because there is too much in it but can't be embraced because it's all spread too thin.

This transcendent fable carries a real sting in its tail. Ang Lee has made a bold and wondrous movie, one of his best.

Fantastic! I loved this film, much much more than I thought I would. For me, it was a spiritual journey. A young man who is grappling with a tremendous loss, struggling to survive life against all odds, all the while respecting God and nature and ultimately finding the answers to his surreal and confusing journey through his own youthful spiritual soul.
One of the best film ever! This is one of those film that kept me thinking for a very long time. This isn't just a movie. It is much more than that. It talked about our basic emotions and imagination and how we react to them. It also talked about how others react to our emotions and imagination. It showed the beautiful side of the human as well as the ugly side. I highly recommend this film. It really is one of my all time favorite film.

If you're not open minded don't bother!!! This movie takes your senses to many places. It challenges your views on life, death & higher powers. I laughed, I cried, I questioned my own mortality. It's on the same realm as Tom Hanks' Castaway. If you liked that you'll love this. Please have an open mind & enjoy!! I highly recommend it
Excellent movie It was beautifully done its more of a sentimental movie than a action paced movie focusing on faith it does have survival I the story line pretty much throughout the whole movie as for the effects they are absolutely amazing no violence whatsoever except animal violence there is human death however it is not shown only talked about.
One of the best movies ever made! Phenomenal movie, the deeper message is there if you look beyond the experience to understand the content...mind blowing. Makes you truly look deeper at the meaning of your life and why you exist to exist. If you do not listen closely or watch closely you will miss the meaning behind the message of this movie. Also watch it again a see the shape of the island is that of Either Mary or Jesus lying there...when they show it from a distance and from the top. Breath taking.

The Dark Knight Rises
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane. MPAA Rating: PG-13 - 2012 Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and Legendary Pictures Funding, LLC.
