Brad Wheeler
Marley is highly watchable, finely crafted legacy preservation - and it's either a white-washed sham or awesomely shaded.
Peter Howell
It wants to show us the man behind the famous dreads, beatific smile and durable songs of love, hope and longing. In this task it succeeds admirably.
Scott Bowles
Sprinkled with riffs, concert footage and home videos, the family-authorized documentary does what the artist usually did: When in doubt, return to the beat.
Peter Margasak
Macdonald supplies some interesting and novel details about the musician's life and art, though the movie's narrative arc and documentary methods are totally predictable.
Joe Williams
Given the legal and logistical constraints on this long-delayed project, this lengthy movie is as comprehensive a history as Marley's fans could have hoped, but the uninitiated may not catch a fire.
Mick LaSalle
Bob Marley wrote the same song about 8,000 times, and the documentary "Marley" makes sure to include each version.

AAAH-MAAAY-ZIIING Any reggae fan needs to watch this. Afterall how can one call themselves a fan and NOT learn or admire everything about its Godfather and most recognizable represented face. He truly was a genious and innovator and arguably had one of the purest messages out. To cure Hate, which he saw as a disease all one had to do was inject the cure, L-O-V-E which was found in his music. Truly one rare human being.
Perfect. One of the best, most inspiring documentaries of our time. Bob Marley is dearly missed and his influence is much needed in this day and age. Not since him has there been a more pure soul in music and world culture <3 all the good ones get taken too soon :(
Excellent Documentary This was a very informative and entertaining documentary. It's always good to see the story behind the genius. Bob Marley wanted to make a difference in this world and he fought for "World Peace." No one is "one dimensional." Bob Marley was complex and touched millions of people with his music. I heard on the radio that he smoked a pound a day of "weed." However, if you listen to the documentary that was a false accusation by the press. Bob Marley did not do that and as we all can see that he died from that foot injury by playing soccer which he failed to get treatment for later on. It was diagnosed by the Doctors as melanoma. Bob Marley continued to tour without treatment and it developed into full blown cancer. Bob Marley died at 36 years of age. However, Bob Marley accomplished more in life than the average 80 year old. Rest in Peace, Bob Marley... Job Well Done!
The Rastafari culture was known worldwide Because of this one man, he truly lived without a hate bone in his heart, he set out to cleanse this world of hate and came so close, inspiring people even after his death and showing the world the true meaning of love, RIP Mr. Bob Marley, you shown us all the true way of life.
Marley is... ...GREAT. I already loved the music but after watching this I was enlightened to why "when music hits you, you feel no pain". This man truly had a beautiful outlook on life and soul. RIP Jamaican Soldjaaa.

Rejoice & Shout
REJOICE & SHOUT covers the 200 year history of African-American Christianity, featuring the legends of Gospel music, including The Staple Singers, The Clara Ward Singers, The Dixie Hummingbirds, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Culled from hundreds of hours of music, tracing the evolution of gospel music through its many styles -- the spirituals and early hymns, the four-part harmony-based quartets, the integration of blues and swing, the emergence of "soul," and the blending of rap and hip-hop elements. It connects the history of African-American culture with gospel as it first impacted popular culture at large and captures so much of what is special about this music and African-American Christianity.

He was and is, without doubt, Jamaica's finest export and in this programme we can reveal for the first time on DVD the behind the scenes Bob Marley that only his closest confidantes could know. To help us understand a little more about this iconic Jamaican is his long time girlfriend and Oscar nominated actress Esther Anderson who describes in detail their life together at home in Hope Road as well as in London. Of all the people considered closest to him, Esther was probably the person who knew more about the man's innermost thoughts and fears than any; so much was she in tune with him she even helped to write some of his hit records. Also featured is the last interview he would ever give in the UK where journalist Kris Needs questions him about his foot injury (the injury that would eventually lead to the diagnosis of terminal cancer) and many other topics about which Marley held strong views. The DVD also reveals previously unseen home footage plus live performances including 'Lively Up Yourself' which was last seen performed in the 70's.

Blackfish
Killer whales are beloved, majestic, friendly giants, yet infamous for their capacity to kill viciously. Blackfish unravels the complexities of this dichotomy, employing the story of the notorious performing whale Tilikum, who — unlike any orca in the wild — has taken the lives of several people while in captivity. Blackfish expands on the discussion of keeping such intelligent creatures in captivity.
Muscle Shoals
Located alongside the Tennessee River, Muscle Shoals, Alabama has helped create some of the most important and resonant songs of all time. Overcoming crushing poverty and staggering tragedies, Rick Hall brought black and white together to create music for the generations. He is responsible for creating the "Muscle Shoals sound" and The Swampers, the house band at FAME Studios that eventually left to start its own successful studio known as Muscle Shoals Sound. Gregg Allman and others bear witness to Muscle Shoals' magnetism, mystery and why it remains influential today.
Man on Wire
On August 7, 1974, a young Frenchman named Philippe Petit stepped out on a wire illegally rigged between the World Trade Center's twin towers in New York. After dancing for nearly an hour on the wire, he was arrested, taken for psychological evaluation, and brought to jail before he was finally released. This documentary incorporates Petit's footage to show the numerous extraordinary challenges he faced in completing the artistic crime of the century.

Bigger, Stronger, Faster
When you discover that your heroes have all broken the rules, do you follow the rules, or do you follow your heroes? From the producers of Bowling For Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11 comes a powerful documentary that unflinchingly explores steroid use in the biggest, strongest, fastest country in the world: America. MPAA Rating: PG-13
Forks Over Knives
What has happened to us? Despite the most advanced medical technology in the world, we are sicker than ever by nearly every measure.
Two out of every three of us are overweight. Cases of diabetes are exploding, especially amongst our younger population. About half of us are taking at least one prescription drug. Major medical operations have become routine, helping to drive health care costs to astronomical levels. Heart disease, cancer and stroke are the country's three leading causes of death, even though billions are spent each year to "battle" these very conditions. Millions suffer from a host of other degenerative diseases.
Could it be there's a single solution to all of these problems? A solution so comprehensive but so utterly straightforward, that it's mind-boggling that more of us haven't taken it seriously?
FORKS OVER KNIVES examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the so-called "diseases of affluence" that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods. The major storyline in the film traces the personal journeys of a pair of pioneering yet under-appreciated researchers, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.
Buck
BUCK, a richly textured and visually stunning film, follows Brannaman from his abusive childhood to his phenomenally successful approach to horses. A real-life "horse-whisperer", he eschews the violence of his upbringing and teaches people to communicate with their horses through leadership and sensitivity, not punishment. Buck possesses near magical abilities as he dramatically transforms horses -- and people -- with his understanding, compassion and respect. In this film, the animal-human relationship becomes a metaphor for facing the daily challenges of life. A truly American story about an unsung hero, BUCK is about an ordinary man who has made an extraordinary life despite tremendous odds.
Chasing Beauty
A rare glimpse into the dark side of modeling, Chasing Beauty speaks with supermodels, photographers, agents and the like in a quest to answer one of the industry's most complex questions: What is beauty and is it worth the cost? Each year, thousands of hopefuls begin the pursuit of their modeling dreams, but how many actually succeed, and how long does success last? For many who try, there is no shortage of collateral damage along the way. Beauty is a billion dollar business, but consumers aren't the only ones paying the price.
