The film (based on true story) revolves around a brave heart Barun Biswas, portrayed by Parambrata Chatterjee, who raises voice against atrocities being committed against women and children, in the village of Dukhiya. The cops would also not take up any complaints against the powerful criminals. Barun Biswas with his team forms a forum named 'Jagaran Mancha' and stands against all odds and forces the law to arrest the culprits. But eventually the accused men gets Barun Biswas murdered leaving the whole village shaken in shock and pain. Later, Binod Bihari Dutta, portrayed by Paran Bondhopadhyay, is searching for truth behind Barun's murder. Binod comes to know about the goons who have terrorized the village. Mishawr Rawhoshyo
It is one of the stories of his Kakababu-Santu series, where the main protagonist is the retired government official turned detective Raja Roy Chowdhury and his teenage assistant and nephew, Santu. The story revolves around a few pieces of paper containing a secret message written in hieroglyphics by an Egyptian preacher, Mufti Mohammad. He has two rival groups of followers who are after the meaning of the message as they believe it contains the directions to a treasure. The leader of one of the groups, Al Mamun, contacts Kakababu or Raja Roy Chowdhury to help them out. As Kakababu takes on the case, he realizes the message in the hieroglyphics is something much more significant than just a will or a treasure map, and embarks on an adventure which takes him through the alleys of Delhi, finally to the tomb of Queen Hetepheres in Egypt. Kakababu finally cracks the case, but not before he unearths conspiracies and overcomes hurdles, as the charismatic leader of the other warring faction, Hani Alkadi, poses challenge after challenge for him. Maharaja Arunangshu (Anindya Bandyopadhyay), the ruler of a princely sate named Balabantpur, had made a wish list on his death bed in the presence of Dewan Chandrashekhar, the family physician Kaligati (Sibaji Bandyopadhyay) and the High Priest. It laid down certain conditions for his heir, his son Himangshu (Indraneil Sengupta). The first of which forbade Himangshu from marrying a non-Hindu girl, and the second demanded a legitimate heir within three years of his marriage. Bound by his father's conditions of succession, Himangshu is compelled to marry Aloka (Arpita Chatterjee), an aspiring actress. A year and half into the marriage, Harinath, the young palace librarian disappears without any trace. This mystery occasions the arrival of the sleuth Byomkesh (Sujoy Ghosh) and his author friend Ajit (Anindya Chatterjee) to Balwantpur. The visit though is under the pretext of an invitation for a hunting expedition. In course of their stay, they unfold many secrets invoving the residents of the palace and about the topography of Balwantpur. Rasmani (Moushumi Chatterjee) lost her husband in her childhood. She expires all of a sudden and her jewellery box goes missing.
