The film is frequently funny, always elegant (or mock-elegant), and something that would make Humbert Humbert laugh all the way to his asylum.
Rene Rodriguez
Most of Wes Anderson's previous pictures came from the head; Moonrise Kingdom is one from the heart.
Tom Long
Anderson never loses his core themes - young love, the need to escape, the bind and bluster of family. His "Kingdom" may not be large, but it is perfectly appointed.
Joe Williams
Phonies may complain that Anderson's island of misfit toys is a retreat from the real world, but for pure-hearted adventurers who share the secret map, "Moonrise Kingdom" is a joy that cannot be...
Rafer Guzman
Though undeniably smart and charming, "Moonrise Kingdom" loves itself the way the callow Holden Caulfield loves himself: unconditionally. Salinger understood the problem with that. Anderson may not.
Moira MacDonald
"Moonrise Kingdom" takes place in a world where everything seems pleasantly faded, where people read crackly-covered library books rather than e-books, and where young people are allowed to be...

Good But Far From Great. As a huge huge fan of Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore and to a lesser extent Darjeeling and Bottle Rocket, I found this to be fairly wooden. The kids were fair actors. The cinematography and style were very much in line with Anderson's other movies. At this point its almost becoming a little stale as it really has developed much over the years. Not to say that there weren't great moments but they were much fewer and much less rewarding than in past films. On top of it all there was not an appearance from Mr. Littlejeans/ Pagoda...unacceptable. I hate to do it but it gets a three.
Quirky and Awesome Another great one from Wes, if you don't like Wes Anderson's style and flair for the sublime misery of humanity then probably not the movie for you. For everyone else watch this movie and be delighted.

Good. As Expected... I am an adamant Wes Anderson fan and just like other fans of his work I had high expectations of seeing a good movie. Here comes the "but." BUT (told ya,) this one comes off slightly as more of a pet project of his than "Tenenbaums" or "Budapest" in terms of grandiose storytelling. Nonetheless "good" in the most rudimentary since of the word. Recommended.
Undeniably Wes Anderson Even through the mild mannerisms of characters that make them ever so quirky Moonrise Kingdom is essentially the most Wes Anderson like Wes Anderson movie I've seen. It strangely surpasses Fantastic Mr Fox in quirkiness and there he directly controlled the animation! Overall though the cinematography and character style was an overarching distraction from the fact that it was ultimately boring. I couldn't find myself to be quite connected to any of the characters. Though I must say they all acted splendidly I just couldn't enjoy them as much as I wanted to.
Quirky Fun Another satisfying Wes Anderson flick. It is visually appealing and backed by a great soundtrack. The kids act well and fit their roles. I place it in the top three of the Anderson films.
10 For 10 Moonrise Kingdom is by far, the greatest movie I have ever watched, and my favorite. It was funny, romantic, silly (in all the good ways), and good feeling. It is the only movie I have ever given 10/10 stars, one of the few I watched to THE VERY end, one of the many I was sad to see end, one of the best I have ever viewed, and my favorite film, the best of all time, if one were to ask me. Wes Anderson did VERY well, he is my favorite Director, simply because I love his works. Fantastic Mr. Fox is good 2
An Epic Tale Anderson and the actors manage to produce a film that is at once witty and moving, comedic and dramatic, but above all, it is a film about how love triumphs over all obstacles. Cliche? Perhaps in outlook, but certainly not in presentation. I can sincerely say that this is now one of my favorite films of all time.
Only if you're into weird stuff If you're in the mood to have your mind blown by something really unique, then see it. If you don't find much value in artsy kinds of things, then forget it. I appreciate the effort of the filmmakers to make something fresh and completely original though.

Another beautiful film from W.E. Wes Anderson's unique and creatively quirky style does not disappoint in this charming comedy about young romance in a small New England town. The actors are excellently cast and have great chemistry with one another. I saw this film at the premiere and it had the audience (especially me) laughing throughout it's entirely. Watch this film, it is worth the 5 dollars!
Genius This movie very good to say the least. every minute was in the style of wes anderson. Moonrise kingdom has an incredible cast and has made my life a little more joyful a piece of art worth at least $50.
Amazing Comical, heartwarming, and down right amazing story! Great cast and colorful scripting. Recommend it to everyone.
Great Story, Great Cast Really liked the movie. The acting was awesome, and the story endearing. Great sound track which set the mood very well. Typical Wes Anderson weird pace, and directing, but enjoyable.
