Bruce Ingram
Yep, he's an odd one all right. You're likely to get tired of hearing about it pretty quick, though.
Tirdad Derakhshani
An endearing, witty romantic dramedy-slash-supernatural-thriller about a small desert town in California beset by demonic apparitions and a satanic cabal of deranged would-be mass murderers.
Jeannette Catsoulis
At once comic, tragic and goofily romantic, and resting too often on Odd's clarifying narration, this young-adult lark breaches the nonsense barrier with some regularity.
Rex Reed
Odd Thomas has high-speed chases, explosions, narrow escapes and masses of special effects-none special enough, I'm afraid, to save it from mediocrity.
Joe Neumaier
This expensive-looking indie, adapted from a supernatural book series by sci-fi author Dean Koontz, tries too hard for a wacky tone, and winds up merely brain-dead.
Inkoo Kang
In adapting Dean Koontz's series, Sommers nails the hero but bungles the world-building. Odd predicts mythological violence, but the climactic wreckage we see on screen is too real for what should...

Fun romp into a scary and intriguing world My wife and I have been wanting to see this for a while after seeing it on Netflix. I have to say we were both impressed! We had a few minor issues with it (some super speed hot wiring in particular), but we enjoyed both the story and the surprising ending. This is one of those films that made me want to check out the book series, which hasn't happened in a while. My wife also mentioned how she'd like to see more of this, like even in a TV series format.

Odd fan Being an Odd Thomas fan as well as a fan of every other Dean Koontz book I was excited about this movie. Now let me be very clear the other movies from his books were not good so my expectations of this should have been low. Well they weren't and they met the rather high expectations I had. I'll watch it over and over and probably watch it again after that.

Great story! Having read the book before watching the movie, I can't help but be "that critic" for a moment and say that there were a few key points in the book that could have been shown in the movie to add some more depth to the characters. (more back story on Stormy would have been nice) However, the cinematography was excellent, the main story line was well represented, and the ending was fantastically done. The story alone is worth watching or reading!

It feels made-for-TV The story was great but poorly told. The movie has an overuse of narration, it lacks chemistry between Odd and Stormy, and the visuals are uninspired and SyFy. The actress who plays Stormy delivers a very flat performance and it leads to scenes where her and Odd deliver lines on each other's heels, which is an acting no-no. The tale is a supernatural action detective tale, but the director fails to tell a successful action story or a successful detective story.

This not a movie for just everyone Im so glad I finally got to see this movie. I read the book by Dean Koontz years before . So the movie itself is far from perfect but it was so enjoyable I went ahead and gave it 5 stars. If you like a little humor and the supernatural you'll like this move. The acting was so so. Stormy got on my nerves because she basically has no acting skills or maybe she was told to play the character that way. . .

Really good I watched this purely for the fact that Anton Yelchin is the main guy, but I loved the overall movie. It was funny and a little creepy at times and I just loved his relationship with his girlfriend. I can't compare it to the story it's based on because I never read it, but it makes me want to maybe check it out

David is the first to realize that there are things lurking in the mistÉdeadly, horrifying thingsÉcreatures not of this world. Survival depends on everybody in the store pulling togetherÉbut is that possible, given human nature? As reason crumbles in the face of fear and panic, David begins to wonder what terrifies him more: the monsters in the mistÑor the ones inside the store, the human kind, the people that until now had been his friends and neighbors? In this legendary tale of terror from master storyteller Stephen King, the thin veneer of civilization is stripped away, the masks are discarded, and the true horror is revealed as us.
