We're still seeing things through handheld devices and built-in laptop cameras, even though nobody seems interested in looking at the footage the cameras were supposedly recording.
Wesley Morris
Even for a something about supernatural shenanigans, this ending is embarrassing.
James Berardinelli
They could have called this Paranormal Inactivity.
Andy Webster
The mood is often playful, with teases and fake-outs that are sometimes humorous and usually right before shocks. Violence is rare, quick and devoid of lingering close-ups.
Alonso Duralde
There are at least a half-dozen or so decent jolts to be enjoyed over the film's running time, but prepare for a long wait to actually get to them.
Scott Tobias
The mythology has deepened, largely to the negative, and the formula is as rigid as the fixins of a fast-food sandwich-tastes the same in every city. But the effects are eternally reliable.

Screenwriter Christopher Landon, along with co-directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, make a truly lame attempt at establishing a supernatural mythology to explain all this ...

Don't hate Alot of people hate on these movies but they are good for the type of movies that they are. These movies build up tension and suspense throughtout the film. With that said I can honestly say that while I enjoyed this movie, I can't shake the feeling that it falls short of what the first three achieved. All in all it felt rushed a bit and it doesn't have a stand out scene like the first three had. Good movie for what it is and my wife and I liked it.

Makes you think..... It had some moments where you could actually feel you heart rush....wait no just one. Would I call this movie horror? Definitely not. Would I call it suspense? Nope. Would I call this movie stupid? Absolutely. It was okay and worth watching once until..... the ending. It was stupid and irrelevant to the plot. In conclusion, avoid unless you really want to see what goes down in the 4th one. Also rent it don't but it. Not worth keeping.
