Wesley Morris
There's no getting past the nonsense formality of taking that camera everywhere.
Tom Huddleston
The plot is a confusing, derivative mishmash of half-baked supernatural clichés, and the total absence of characterization makes it hard to care what happens.
Clark Collis
The leads are appealing but the best scares will be familiar to anyone who has seen the previous films - or, for that matter, the trailer.
Peter Keough
This fifth in the series further diminishes the promise of the 2007 original, replacing mystery and suspense with predictability and misogyny.
Richard Corliss
Provides the familiar cheap thrills but with a salsa tang.
Michael O'Sullivan
Many of the core elements of the earlier movies are retained here, including the increasingly annoying found-footage gimmick.

There's no escaping that the found-footage phenomenon has gone from fresh and original to just plain annoying.

Absolutely horrible. This was the worst scary movie ive ever seen. The acting was fine but now it is just getting so fake. *spoiler alert; in the part with the bus station throwing scene, the likeliness that no one in that neighborhood witnessed the supernatural strength of him is highly slim. The first four were believable but this one was awful. I laughed more than i was scared. I never got a single chill or anything. Highly dissapointed in this movie. And they broke way off of the main story line of the first three.
Eerie and entertaining! Not my favorite PA but this one was really cool. The acting was impressive and the ending was terrifying. **Spoiler** (The scene where they were doing the satanic ritual in the church was trippy but the part where the kid was asking that game questions kind of made me chuckle from the absurdity.) Overall cool movie and definitely worth a rent.

Best of the series All Latin cast made it so intriguing. A big change of setting was just what this series needed. *Spoiler* I love that they have introduced time travel into the series. It allows the series to have any spin offs in any time period; which was a genius move. I hope they will do something in a projects setting with an all African-American cast. Or a detective who discovers a link between the cases and becomes alarmingly close to the truth, only to meet demise.

More like Paranormal Craptivity The only scary thing about this movie was the fact they decided to make it. As far as cheesiness goes I'll give them 4 out of 5 "wtf did they make this" . You can't even put a spoiler alert on this. Every movie ends the same. Only good thing about it is they have an all Latin cast. It's a bad movie with a hero that has a camcorder that never runs out of power (insert Duracell sound) and seems to hold steady shots while running. Pros: All Latin cast Cons: A lot...I ended up singing Let it Go. It's that bad

Best One so far... Normally I hate paranormal activity but I decided to give this one a chance and I loved it. It actually has a story line unlike the others where u have to look close to see if cabinet doors, cups and bedroom doors are moving. But my only complaint is that the commercials had me thinking that the movie was about La Santa Muerte.

It all comes full circle So, I thought this one was going to be more of a actually movie, not the hand held video like the others. However, it was still a good watch, with some parts making you say really?! We do finally get somewhat of a explanation of the things of part one that left us wondering. Overall good movie.

Story is good but there are contradictions *spoilers* In the beginning of the movie there's a banner in the graduation scene that says Class of 2012. At the of the movie, theres a scene that shows the end of the first Paranormal Activity from a different perspective, explaining what the audience didn't see, but the first movie took place in 2006. Clearly this one takes place in 2012. There's a couple other contradictions, but its not the first time the series has contradicted its story.
