Well, that's one joke. Ninety more minutes to go.
Eric D. Snider
The film has some laughs. But it also has a million jokes about anal probes, alien genitalia, and people thinking Clive and Graeme are gay. These guys can do better than this.
David Edelstein
The CGI alien is very well articulated, and Rogen is a virtuoso at mixing motormouthed rudeness with a hint of tenderness to take off the edge.
James Berardinelli
Paul is arguably the best science fiction comedy since Galaxy Quest.
Peter Rainer
This is not quite enough of a conceit to sustain a full-length movie -- Paul would have made a terrific short film -- but there are incidental pleasures all along the way.
Linda Holmes
A good-hearted, funny movie.

The results, it must be said, are less hi-larious than sporadically mid-to-low-larious.
User reviews
Excellent movie, no problems viewing There were WAY too many complaints about 'usupported format'. To those folks, I hope you got your refund, am sad you weren't able to enjoy this otherwise exxcellent movie. It pokes at all our worst attributes - racism, misogyny, religion, intolerance, until, at the end, the message hits you between the eyes... some nonsense about friendship, love, commitment, honor, blah, blah, blah. You're able to connect to the characters, and the syrprising ending was totally satisfying.
Awesome Movie I saw this at the theaters, and couldn't wait for it to be out. It was better than i thought it was going to be. It not only was hilarious, but it had a pretty good story as well. It felt fresh and new, something different. The actors are great, and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are just perfect. I don't think this movie would be as good without them. The 3D animation on Paul is just amazing too. If you want some good laughs and an awesome movie, than this is it. A definite recommend.
Not too bad Pegg and Frost are always hilarious but the abundance of inside geek jokes/quotes got tiresome, still a fun movie. Seth Rogan's voice not too annoying
Didn't like the atheist propoganda As a popcorn flick its entertaining, but I didn't like the atheist leaning. This film calls to sins, and fornication amongst other things.
Lots of laughs If your a christian, I wouldn't recommend it due to some content. Besides that, there are lots of good laughs to be had in this movie. The quality is good despite it being only available in standard definition. Watched it on my 46" TV and it looked good.
Amazing! Such a funny movie but not stupidly funny actually has a good plot etc. Has lots of good references some may or may not understand.
Unsupported format, boooooo refund. Supported fomat, booooooooooooooo, refund
Paul No big laughs for me. To much poddy mouth and crude humor. Sigourny - what were you thinking?
One of the best movies of those British pairs Hilarious, historical uber geek reference hardcore with a great story and ending.

Two nights before the big day, at a fabulous resort in Thailand, Stu relents. One beer each. In sealed bottles. What could go wrong?
