Catherine Bray
Displaying a weird lack of memorable or endearing characters, this animated effort feels like a direct-to-video job from the 1990s.
Lisa Kennedy
Vivid and folksy, Fire & Rescue nicely exceeds expectations dampened by last summer's stalled-out Planes.
Bilge Ebiri
It is, in almost all respects, a better movie. It's still not particularly good, though.
Jordan Hoffman
The meek action plays to the under-10 crowd, but the groaner puns will play only to masochists. Meanwhile, the 3-D ticket upcharge here is a big ripoff - the extra dimension is unnecessary.
David Hiltbrand
The same lame puns wedged into a succession of situations, rather than a story.
James Rocchi
As it is in the merchandising aisle, so it is on the big screen: "Planes: Fire and Rescue" is precisely long, competent, and entertaining enough to be sold, and sold well.

Pleased, but Dissatisfied The movie is a great movie. They could of had a little mo' substance, that would have made it like cars(more profitable) other than that I watch Disneys' Airplanes everyday with my boys. I downloaded it into my phone, so I wouldn't have to worry about buffering issues and now I can't find it. It's also not playing from the google play platform. Come on Google you guys are supposed to b the best, at least that's what a grasped from The Movie Intern. I don't know if I got that right. I'm on a HTC 3D ECO, I shouldn't b going thru this. Movie B+!!!!!!!
Good Great movies for kids. People have to think its even tho Adults can watch it too but for kids movies to be comment on is really up to the kids. If the kids like it or dont they will let u know. What we can at lest do is make sure they are watch something good and learning. I say good movie for familys. So far most kids movie watch with are daughter is spongboo so stupid. We dont let her watch bc we dont want her to learn stupid stuff.
Fantastic movie for entire Family I felt this movie was outstanding. And it's even better when you realize that this movie is in the same world as "Cars". And that Disney will be making a whole line of movies within this world. Also just as an individual movie, this was great. It was entertaining, a good story line, had great moral points and a super fun movie. Great job to Disney once again. Reminds us All we are all kids at heart.

Would have been better without Dane Cook Sometimes the character in the movie gets overshadowed by the persona of the actor. Every time I heard Dane Cook's voice I thought the plane was going to start doing a stand up comedy routine. Unfortunately there weren't any really funny lines for him to deliver. My two year old lost interest about 1\2 hr into the movie. She normally is pretty glued to the screen for animated films. It was a beautifully animated film, the story is pretty played out though.
Excellent movie for Family Kids like seeing the animation and conflict resolution. Adults like the contemporary comic bites. However, as a Pixar fan, I found the story is a bit redundant. Say similar to Monsters U. Where the lead character facing a society where everyone is to fit into the position pre determined. Only this time the lead character beats the norm and wins. Also, similar to Cars 2 with the race around the world story line. Very little personal development of the lead characters. One bad guy, with gang. Everyone else helps without care to their own conclusion.

Not worth watching. I saw this in the theater with a family member and it was poorly written. Really bad jokes, only one or two laughs. I didn't like how Disney did a parody of Cars, which was a much better written and displayed movie. I did like the animation – it was smooth. Better movie for younger boys 3-8.
Seriously People? Seriously... Reading these reviews, it seems like everyone is trying to be an amateur Siskel or Ebert. This movie is neither designed nor intended for people old enough to recognize or, more importantly, care about the comparisons to other movies that may or may not be similar. Let's be honest here - movies for kids have been derivative for decades now. It's intended for kids, my 3 year old loved it, yours probably will too. If you're old enough to care about it being similar to other kids' movies, you're probably not a kid, so your opinion is not really relevant.
