Bruce Diones
Its remote-controlled emotional responses leave little room for genuine uplift.
Tom Huddleston
Satisfyingly sturdy and no-nonsense, a multiplex monster smartly constructed from tried-and-trusted parts.
Richard Roeper
Thanks to an admittedly corny script, some amazing fight scenes, and a terrific cast, "Real Steel's" actually a winner by split decision.
Eric D. Snider
Surely a story as elementary and essentially derivative as this one could be told in less than 127 minutes.
Peter Rainer
They should call this overloud, underwhelming movie Real Steal.
Forrest Wickman
Real Steel, a heartwarming sci-fi sports movie about a father and son who reunite through robot boxing, testifies to the formidable power of ridiculousness.

Aas the plot proceeds from boy-meets-dad verbal sparring to an uneasy peace to the underdog-vs.- champion title bout, it becomes increasingly easy to forgive its many nicks.

Real Steel is the new Rocky! I. Love. This. Movie! It's not just a rock'em sock'em action flick: there's heart, ingenuity and lots of fun. Not to mention it's one of Hugh Jackman's best performances ever. I guarantee even viewers npt fans of robot fighting will fall on love with thos flick!
I lve this movie and think everybody has to watch it! If you want to see a greate movie with a combo of amazing fight moves, amazing graphics, touching moments, and a greate storyline, definately watch this!! The graphics couldn't look better if the movie where real!!!! If I had to change one thing, I would have had zeus stay down in the final fight.
Worth the few bucks The movie has a different feel to it which is a case on its own for watching it. Most movies I've seen coming out recently were too similar. The acting is decent and it mixes its genres very well. My only real complaint is it feeling too condensed. It feels the movie could have gone a bit longer, but while making the movie they decided it was turning out too long. Or they ran out of time. Either way, it was a good watch.
Great for the kids, not so much for the parents.Very predictable. Kids'll love it.Kind of in league with Transformers though Jackman is better than Labouf to me.Cool special effects but super cheesy otherwise. The reviews must mostly be from teenagers or twenty somethings, cause there is NOTHING original in the story except robots.
Does its job admirably Though very much a formulaic underdog movie, it is an extremely entertaining one. Fantastic effects and an unusually spot-on child actor round out the experience. Well worth a rental.
Best movie of the year 2011 In my opinion, it is the best movie of the year. Its fit for family, couples or just by yourself watching. Best 3.99 I've spent renting this movie. Sad, happy, awesomeness.
Rocky-Sock Em Robots Real Steel is a father-son movie meets Rocky meets Rock Em's Sock Em' Robots. An interesting, and entirely possible, future sport known as Robot Boxing has entirely replaced commercialized fighting because it provides the violence humans never could. While the plot itself is a bit generic, it's still a good movie to watch and the CGI is excellent and worth renting just to see.
Love this movie! Not a fan of boxing but I loved watching the robots fight. Great plot! Great robots! Even the music was great! Can't wait for the next movie!

Mechanized Rocky! Start to end this movie hits the mark, in every way, the chemistry between Hugh Jackman, and the young actor who plays his son is just great, the story line keeps up with incredible effects, supporting stars, are great, bad guys and all, the Robot, takes no time to become real, and the fight scenes could do something to show how exciting boxing could be, if all but a few standouts left in sport I love! For now I will stick with Real Steel!! Worth The Price*
JAWESOME! This movie was awesome. Great mix of a kid like fun loving movie and BA action movie without compromising to much on either. It does not take itself seriously and you wont be bored OR overwhelmed at any point. VFX deserved the Oscar as well.
Best movie eva yah awsome cool nice very cool awsome nice best movie eva Im that movies biggest fan yes I am awsome cool funny nice coooooooooioooooooooooolfun nice awsome good story would be a good booooooooooook
Decent Good movie, not great, but entertaining and worth a watch or two. Not awards worthy in either story or acting, many will enjoy the fight sequences, and laugh at the one liners. The real treat of this movie however, is the amazing effects, which are epic, as well as the fights between the bots! Overall pretty ok, slightly above average flick...
Very cheesy and stupid But stupid people like that garbage so you'll probably like it. P.s. the kid in the movie is extremely unlikeable and annoying
Not that great Really disappointing. The musical score and acting seem forced and out of place. It's as though Hollywood took memorable shots from a trailer and stretched them to film feature length. Obvious and lacking depth.
