Ultimately, it's popcorn nihilism without the big laughs that helped distract from the casual approach to life and death in 'Red'.
Mick LaSalle
This is a likable, almost gentle comedy and also a violent action film about the possibility of a nuclear bomb going off in a major city.
Christopher Orr
Willis is self-evidently capable of kicking the asses of men considerably younger than himself. But at some point shouldn't he consider an alternative pastime?
Bilge Ebiri
No movie with this much ass-kicking should feel so lifeless.
Lisa Kennedy
Ridiculously action-packed and just as endearing, Red 2 is why we go to sequels despite our well-earned cynicism about studios churning them out.
Peter Rainer
It's nice to see oldsters cavorting in kaboom movies, but a little of this stuff goes a long way.

What's interesting about 'RED 2' is that, not only is it better than its predecessor, it is miles better ...

Quality casting can carry anything The script is great, the action scenes are fun but the icing is the delivery of both by an incredible cast. None other than these could have aced the lines in this film. A great sequel. Even if it is popcorny. And if you don't find humor in the script, your comedy spirit has been broken by the prevalent apathy and snarky disdain so many people exhibit. Laugh already. :)

An excellent (and in some ways better) sequel to RED RED 2 is the best sequel to a movie I have seen in a long time. I was worried that it was going to have a weird story plot that took away from the comedy and action. This isn't just another Bruce Willis movie; this is also a Helen Mirren and John Malkovich movie. My favorite scene in the movie involves Mary-Louise Parker. They even brought everyone back from the first movie; excluding Morgan Freeman and others that aren't important. Though some of their scenes and lines were short, it brought some of the best laughs to the movie. While it is not a popular box office award-winning title, it still is a hidden gem in the sea of over-the-top action movies and romantic dramas. I give this movie a 4/5

Awful sequel Quite possibly the worst sequel of a fantastic movie I have ever seen. Red, the first movie was great, with humor, Acton, and a great story line. This sequel does not have any of that. Over half the movie is watching annoying the annoying Weeds lady tell Bruce Willis he's bad for his life he's led while herself trying to somehow get involved in being a spy/assassin. Where were the other characters from Red? Who gave the movie story and dynamic.

A wonderful continuation Well-seasoned actors with new talent usually is a recipe for a great movie, and Red 2 was proof of this. Malkovich, Willis, Hopkins and Helen Mirren all sync wonderfully. Mary-Louise Parker and Bruce Willis make a believable couple in an action packed movie where often that role is forced within the plot to move the movie along. Funny, violent when neccessary and doesn't take itself too seriously. If I had a criticism it would be "more of the same". While I enjoy the action sequences, they were reminiscent of the first movie and didn't really progress past the bait and switch humor of Red. However, it was perfectly fine to watch it again since Red was just as hilarious. None of the scenes were forced and I couldn't find anything that seemed out of place. Excellent if you enjoyed Red.
Disappointing, even for a sequel Loved the first one. This was kind of a dud. Not funny, and the nagging relationship problems that underscore the whole movie were annoying,.
Watch it, definitely a keeper! First off I didnt think it could be better than the original, but I was wrong. The chemistry between all the characters was fantastic! Rent it, buy it, whatever just watch it! This one I'm keeping in my library. It's one that I will enjoy watching again! Im thinking a Red marathon night!

Action/Comedy. So Awesome! This is my kind of movie, its such a Great Movie I had to see it again. One of the funniest parts in the movie is when the Korean bounty hunter was using a Mini Gun and then said “Are you dead, Frank?!" Frank: “Not yet!" Funniest come back ever! Red 2 is one of the best of the best movies I've ever seen.
