Rafer Guzman
The script is incoherent and the acting is terrible -- avatars would have been an improvement.
Joe Neumaier
Thuddingly awful.
Joe Leydon
Some sequels suggest that no one involved with a franchise really cares anymore.
Jeannette Catsoulis
A zombie plague may have laid waste the world, but apparently supplies of black leather unitards have yet to be exhausted.
Clark Collis
During the film's final sequence the director explains all while also suggesting that the franchise's nuttiest days are, remarkably, yet to come.
Tasha Robinson
The acting is sometimes shockingly bad, but generally the script doesn't ask much of the actors, and the combat is effectively staged and often thrilling.

Writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson ... attempts to fill out a flimsy plot structure by making the characters' comings and goings overly convoluted.

Good with some bad I thought it was good but it had its faults. I felt the action was well done and very enjoyable but the story took a backseat compared to the others. It never felt cohesive, and felt to cheesy at times. Same time it did lead to an end, with some purpose.. to help make up for it. If your a fan of the other films and were more into the action.. this is a must watch. If you cared bit more for the story, you may come out of it being bitter.

A little disjointed but very good. Not sure if it's the storyline plot twists that make Retribution feel like it's put together with elmers glue, like a little more time explanation would of helped. Definitely enjoyable and a good movie and I'm looking forward to the next. Oh and it might be nice to have a few explosions that just go boom I mean really not every kaboom needs to be slowed down for effects I mean a good honest boom here and there could really make an action film more believable. Combat scenes normal speed help it look real etc

Excellente Its great just tired of the crybaby fanboys crying because its different from the games. Paul Anderson explains when the very first movie was made why he made it different from the games. So people wouldn't know what to expect. Now he is just appeasing the fanboys so they'll stfu. Overall it is and contiues to be a great movie series. Its the hardcore fanboys that ruin it for everyone else.

This is Resident Evil A TRUE resident evil fan knows that characters such as Leon, Ada, Wesker, Chris and Claire Redfield make Resident Evil. the character Alice is great but does not exist in the books or games. The movie franchise however, Good, does NOT follow the game too well. RE: Retribution is a great movie and finally starts to bring in the MAIN Resident Evil characters. So before posting negative reviews learn what Resident Evil is actually about.

What happened... 1, 2, and 3 were fairly good movies, the first especially. 4 and 5 are polished turds, and seem generally unfocused and disjointed. There are far better things to spend money on, unless you are well-off and very easily entertained... then by all means, buy it and be mildly disappointed.

It was good..as a rental. If you are a fan of the series than you will most likely buy no matter what I say. However I took this movie as it is...good but nothing Oscar worthy. However were you really expecting a lot out of this type of genre?? Look just rent watch it and enjoy simple as that. If you are looking for deeper more thought provoking movie move along. Plus Milla is always stunning. :)
Cool Like this movie. resident evil is the best zombie franchise.

I wanted to see this movie ever since it came out ,but i can not help but to feel let down.I feel like I am 5 years old watching a Power Rangers movie or somethin. I love the RE games ,but the movies make me kinda want to jump off a building or somethin. Yet I will buy every RE movie that comes out for as long as I live.
