Dave McGinn
An entertaining movie with two solid performances that only occasionally stalls because of its sometimes heavy-handed treatment of Hunt and Lauda's differences.
Ann Hornaday
Considering the subject matter, Rush delivers the expected visceral jolts; what's surprising is how endearing it is, even when its two protagonists are behaving like little more than boys with very...
Wesley Morris
The script is another Peter Morgan special. Like, say, The Queen and Frost/Nixon, it's a speculative duet built around a moment of newsworthiness.
Anthony Lane
If you don't already know the story of that season, lucky you; even now, it exerts a ridiculous thrill.
Dana Stevens
Rush is an outsize Hollywood spectacle about two outsize personalities in conflict, a sleekly assembled thrill machine that makes up in excitement for what it lacks in nuance.
Christopher Orr
Rush is not a particularly deep film. But more importantly, it is not a film that mistakes itself for deep. And this self-knowledge makes Rush, in some ways, a wiser film than many that aspire to...

The best movie of 2013, its accuracy and photography are near perfect. The race scenes are gut wrenching. And the documented rivalry of two of Formula One's finest drivers during the 1976 season is amazing. If this isn't Ron Howard's best movie, and I've seen them all, I don't know what is. Watch this movie and remember, what you're seeing is exactly what happened. The last race and final scene should bring chills to your body. I convinced a friend to watch the video. His response, "Rush is a great movie."
YES a real racing film Daniel bruhl was so fabulous in this I thought I WAS looking at Niki Lauda! Ive been so looking forwards to this film and it did not let down! Howard did an amazing job directing AMAZING race sequences and private collectors made available the actual real cars from the era! I know its trite but i laughed and i cried and i loved it! ( Miss you Senna) TY to everyone involved in the making of this film! BRILLIANT (ALSO - SCHUMACHER , COME ON MAN! FIND THE GAP AND PULL THROUGH THIS! WE ARE WITH YOU)
Very good, for anyone! As a Formula 1 fan, I saw the movie knowing the story just not knowing how they were going to tell it. As a Formula 1 fan, I think they told the story beautifully. It wasn't overdramatised, and they didn't take liberties all over the place. They just told the story and captured the characters, and very well I might add. The racing scenes weren't too special but that wasn't exactly the point of the movie. It was about 2 people with completely opposite personalities that are competing almost to their death but while still maintaining the utmost respect for eachother. It is an amazing story and Ron Howard told it very well. There were also a lot of little details they throw in there which were interesting too. Plus I like the way they incorporated real footage of the crashes and stuff without throwing it at you. And they recreated somethings that if you're a fan you'll notice, otherwise I doubt it, like Hunt's "Big balls" line for example.
Amazing You don't have to know about cars or racing to enjoy this film! I am a car guy, but I saw Rush with a girl who knew nothing of cars or racing and we both enjoyed it. The story is very strong and based in fact, which gives it extra impact. Definitely a sleeper hit and one of the best of the year.
An Excellent F1 Portrait. Aside from being a great film on rivalry and characters, Ron Howard nailed the tension and drama of Formula 1, especially during the 70s. I think some of Lauda and Hunt's friendship was lost in all of this, though. I highly recommend getting into Formula 1 if you enjoy the movie. It's history is full of great stories.
So much more than what the title says: An amazing story of two legendary drivers. Action, love, and suspense! Outstanding!! This was much more than I thought. It told the story of two drivers and I couldn't pick my favorite- you have a strait laced business oriented Austrian and the hot brit playboy who plays outside the lines. It kept me on the edge of my seat but u love them both!!! Excellent movie
