"Revelation" is incredibly boring as well as totally baffling.
William Goss
Demonstrates what half the budget and twice the story can do to turn a fake nightmare into a real chore.
Andy Webster
The distinction between actors and special effects shrinks ever further in the video game-turned-horror film Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, which reduces its human players to plastic action figures in tired genre settings.
Ethan Gilsdorf
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D quickly devolves into a smorgasbord of sutured faces and blades poking the viewer in the eye.
Mark Olsen
It's never a good sign when the trailers playing before a film have richer, more complete narratives than the feature you've paid to see.
Keith Staskiewicz
An ugly, assaultive collection of jump-scares.

Once the 3-D special effects look dated, this head-scratcher of a movie could be ripe to become a camp classic. But for now, the humorless approach to this inane mess is embarrassing rather than hilarious.

Good but too quick adaptaion This is a decent sequel considering its a different director. Heather mason is my favorite SH protagonist and I like the actresses portrayal of her. My biggest issue was it seemed rushed. I waited years hoping for this movie while not fully disappointed but felt it could have been longer. Love the fact Robbie the rabbit and elements from the game where used. And connected to the first movie. Couldn't help though feel some of it seemed a bit cheesy. Where the first one didn't. But I like the overall movie.
So Disappointing I loved the first silent hill but this one was terrible. It was originally in 3D so all the parts that were supposed to be in 3D look fake (which is pretty much the whole movie) terrible acting to top it of and the little girl in the first movie is supposed to be the teenager in this one but it looks nothing like her. Some cool monsters in some of it but don't waste your money. Just watch the first one and pretend there isn't even a second!!!
Laughable if you weren't crying Terrible movie even ignoring the inconsistencies with the games. Just not thought out well and completely misses the point. Silent Hill is terrifying because it's a trap of personal hell and anguish. The first movie, while being derivative of the game, still held that idea intact and played it off pretty well. This one seems to think it's a shock slasher movie.
If you are not a fan... then DO NOT watch this movie! You'll hate it, in every possible way. Now if you're like me and a fan, you'll find this pretty entertaining. I also recommend watching this in complete darkness with no distractions. It's a bit more enjoyable, and by enjoyable I mean stressful/anxious since that's what is going for, if you can get engrossed into the vibe.
Entertaining First off, I've never played the games and was never a fan of Silent Hill. I bought the first film and though scary, I didn't like it. I decided to give this one a try after they added it on Netflix (after much thought) thinking I'd regret it. I was pleasantly surprised however. I found it interesting, and though not scary, entertaining. I really liked it.
A fun movie In no way is this perfect. Awkward story telling me random plot points, disappointing character development and doesn't completely fall in line with the game. And yet it's still awesome. Great character design (the manikin spider). The nurse scene was cool and the creepy clowns at the mall. Despite its flaws I still enjoyed it.
Wish they would try harder. I love the games. I do hope they make a third, however pls live a game title and stick to the story line. Your competition " Resident Evil " has found a way to do this. I have always enjoyed the terror of Silent Hill games more. However without more plot, character development, and a true storyline I fear you won't make a third. These are good movies, and I am fighting for you against the critics, but the lack of truth to the games makes it easy to criticize... Good movie. Could have been better...
Great movie The movie is really good. I mean,I'm not going to buy or rent the movie because it's on Netflix. But it is a fantastic movie. Not sure why people say otherwise, saying it wasn't good, but everyone is entitled to their opinions. It was way better than the first one and to be honest, you don't really need to watch the first movie to understand what they're talking about because the second movie has more of a back story to it and tells you more about it than the first one. Brilliant movie.
Useless follow-up. The first Silent Hill movie wasn't perfect, but it captured the essance of the town. Being my favorite game, I was hoping that the adaptation of Silent Hill 3 would just kill the first movie in terms of keeping to the story. In minute ways, it does this. Little things like the room 106 in Jack's Inn and .. the Halo of the Sun.. Still, the movie suffers from a lack of genuine story, seemingly forgetting the source material altogether. I spent too much time counting the days for this movie to get this.
A Great movie for a specific audience This movie was written specifically for people who have played silent hill games and seen the first movie. Having done both, I found this movie to be a fantastic adaptation of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed it myself. It loses a star only because of how specific its target audience is. People who say this movie is boring and poorly written, only say that because they are not in that target, and therefore know nothing and understand nothing about it.
