Bob Mondello
Writer-director Russell is just the guy to bring out (and then calm) the manic dysfunction in these folks.
Andrew O'Hehir
It's a rom-com that succeeds in revitalizing that discredited genre where so many others have failed, injecting it with the grit and emotion of realist drama rather than with amped-up whimsy or social satire or montages of people walking on the beach.
Colin Covert
Silver Linings Playbook tells us that happily-ever-after may depend on finding people who coexist with our lunacy, not ones who can lead us out of it. In any case, it's crazy good.
Lisa Schwarzbaum
A crazy beaut of a comedy that brims with generosity and manages to circumvent predictability at every turn.
Elizabeth Weitzman
An edgy romantic dramedy that suits our anxious times.
Ricardo Baca
This meaningful film keeps the laughs, giddy anxiousness and warm butterflies from the trailer and sustains it all through two full hours of a love story.

Terrific! Terrific! About love, being (going) crazy. About mindlessness everywhere - in life, in sport, in relationships. Almost everyone is sick in this movie and that is what makes it very special. It's as if someone let psychiatrist walk the streets and give a diagnose to everyone. Romantic comedy.
Eh The first half was good and I liked the chemistry of it, but the last half just became a paint by numbers film..... they were good in the roles, but I didn't like the cinematography during the dance half. Still I think that the conflict could've been better with more tension with the game interleaved with the dancing..... not as good as I had expected..
Excellent Love Story This film takes you on an adventure in a broken world through the eyes of Pat, a man who struggles with heartbreak and reality. It's a beautiful love story that shows how to accept yourself and those around you for who you and they are, how to work with one another through difficult times, and how to look for the silver lining in difficult times. Everyone should see this at some point in their life.
*TOP FAVE 4 SUREE!!* I adore this movie!! I can watch it over & over & not get tired of it;) It's a wonderfully fresh, funny & modern portrayal of how many ppl in this world struggle with behavioral health, love &/or just ..aNyThiNg 4 that matter! We are all crazy in our own lil ways but we manage 2 pull everything together by & by & that's what this phenomenal movie is about;) with B.Cooper & J.Law you just can't go wrong there!;)
Loved it I read the book a while back before this. When I heard the movie was going to be made I was a little apprehensive. We all know hollywood seems to destroy good books. I knew there were going to be changes but I didnt think they would be good. I was wrong. It was very fitting to the story plot. I loved it!!! And the acting was superb they grasped all the characters perfectly. Would watch again.
Simply Brilliant. Despite my bias of being an overly obsessed fan of Jennifer Lawrence, to say the least, by far her and Bradley Coopers best performance yet! It has everything! Your romance, drama, sports, dancing, illness, disipline, gambling, and comedy! With its excellar cast and grave reviews how can you not watch it? Oscar nominations in all four acting catagories and a win for Lawrence is not something to overlook! Dont miss out on a fantastic film!
Absolutely Horrible Movie This movie managed to be both boring and annoying at the same time. Boring because the plot moved so slowly and annoying because all of the dialog was just complaining and mindless rants. The only way this movie isn't a complete waste of time is if you manage to sleep through it.
Good Acting But Mixed Representation of Mental Illness Disturbing The actors were very talented. The end of the movie left the audience with the impression that a bipolar person's problems could be cured by love. Most of the movie gave a very accurate account of mental illness but I was so upset by the misleading ending of the movie. There is already such a limited understanding of mental illness that I would hate to think that this might be the only encounter with the realities of mental illness
Silver Linings Playbook Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence give excellent performances as two people (Pat and Tiffany) dealing with mental illness. Pat is Bi-Polar and Tiffany suffers from depression and sexual addiction. The movie is a bit of a romantic comedy but far more witty, well acted and plotted than average in this genre. It deeply touches your heart and funnybone sometimes all at the sametime. Lawrence won a well deserved Oscar for her performance and in anyother year Cooper deserved to win.
Great movje with humor and hostility Great story! I really enjoyed the story line and comedy. Bradley Cooper and Robert Deniro were outstanding. The actress was so compelling that I read Hunger Games to enjoy another movie. All were very impactful. The story was something that I could personally relate to and enjoy at the same time. I will watch this movie over and laugh each time. I am a Dallas Cowboys fan though and don't mind of Eagles lose. Much love!
Then best movie of the year. I am obsessed. Best movie EVER. One of my all time favorites. Great actors. Amazing cast. GREAT preformances. Beautifully written accurate portal despite mental illness there is a silver lining. This family is graced with a son who has a passion for life. With a football in his hand and a beautiful contagious smile he goes out & prove s to the world. He is ok, better than ok he is phenomenal. Cooper faces challanges head on to overcome many preconceived notions of what CRAZY is. Not what most think. Heartwarming.
