Scared the Hell out of me I'm a huge horror fan and u watch everything so it takes a lot for me to get scared, but this scared me to death. I love Insidious, which I believe is directed by the same person, but this was even better. The soundtrack adds so much to the film and Ethan Hawke's acting is stellar.

Awesome movie I'm 43 yrs young, so I grew up watching Friday the 13th, Halloween, Freddy, pumpkinhead, but nothing I've ever seen are as creepy as Sinister. This is a movie you don't watch if you have a heart condition or get scared easily. You have been warned :-)

Awesome movie Sinister is without a doubt one of my favorite scary movies! The soundtrack to this movie is the best one I've heard. Its just as scary if not more scary than insidious. Definitely worth the money and still creeps me out every time I watch it

Not your average horror movie I expected this to be an average horror movie but there were some great twists to it, good jump scares, and a fairly original plot. Definitely a good scare! On another note, I felt like the ending was a little weak.

I was looking over my shoulder The entire movie. The musical score was thrilling and creepy and the characters all seemed believable. However, there are some points to be made here considering how much I paid to watch it; I prefer my horror with a little more gore and I was hoping for that here. It was quite the typical haunted house thriller in that there were things that went bump in the night, mysterious electrical issues, etc. All creepy and fun, but the build up led to... well... I just wanted more from it. I wanted to hear more about the symbol and have more interactions with other characters. I wanted to see more from the son who had these night terrors. In general, although believable, I didn't feel I could relate or even empathize with this family (The wife in particular). I did NOT find the ending to be too abrupt, however. I believe that, had it ended any other way, the movie would have been silly. In closing, I found it original, thrilling, and to be honest, scary. I would look for a more inexpensive way to watch it, though, as I don't think it was worth the $15 I paid.

King Diamond vs Ethan Hawke - yes crap vs crap If you don't know who King Diamond or Ethan Hawke is, that's fine, you shouldn't know about this film either. It's borrowed parts throughout and poorly executed them. The iPhone used everywhere ( a sure sign of a lacking film ) and never materializes into anything new or exciting. All of which really sucks for struggling, yet good actors like James Ransone who was a favorite character of mine from 'The Wire' and Vincent D'Onofrio, who has talent beyond belief but has never found a good writer/director to harness it being his best roll in the original M.I.B. The movie sometimes tries to feel like David Fincher's Se7en, and has the ability to work off of that, if it wasn't for extremely poor lighting and lame audio, giving the poor editor nothing to work with. If you like watered-down, horribly directed and terribly implausible writing, you'll love this film. I scare myself more the morning when I look in the mirror after a night of hard drinking.

Very good horror movie I'm a longtime horror movie fan, and I have to agree with the other comments about this movie being truly scary. If you're a fan of the horror movie that are realistic, no over the top effects, and a "raw" feel to them, then you'll like this one. It brings in the now-popular theme of using technology/monitors as a medium for all things evil, but it's definitely not like The Ring or any of the others. Ethan Hawke's acting is superb, and the plot, though simple, works well with the horror. Easily the best horror movie since Insidious.
scared to turn off the lights Love horror movies and i've seen them all. This one wasn't a worn out plot like so many are now adays. My friend refered me to watch it cuz it freaked her out so of course I was in. It kept the interest of me and a small group of friends all the way thru. With covering of the eyes plugging the ears and uncomfortable looks from them during the scary parts. When I went to bed me and my wife laid in bed like kids afraid to close our eyes in the dark. Can't remember the last time a movie got me like that.

sinister scary at first, moves right along but fizzles at the end. I give it a 6.5 outta ten. sound track was the best. And the dim lighting though out. Reminded me of '8 mm'. a little tweak hear and there and this could of been allot better. cast was very good. idea was great. I would have ended differently.
If it was possible... I was wondering if it was possible I would waste my money on another "scary" and well I did. Nothing at all scary about this movie. Sure the demon was scary looking but he lacked a certain sinister about him..no pun intended. He didn't do anything worthy of being a demon. You can look scary all day but unless youre truley evil it has no effect. Unless you're easily scared. Do yourself a favor and not watch this.

Give them a credit. They made the low budget movie into something very sinister. 60% of the screen always seem pitch black which make you always on the edge, but not that shocking. The story was not the same old zombies or vamps but medieval occult which I never heard of. I cannot say I like it but thought provoking movie. Be aware of the occults. Not as good as what people wrote in the reviews.
