It's been a long time since I enjoyed a Bond movie so much.
Glenn Kenny
'Quantum of Solace,' was a dour, dire letdown. This picture's a substantial bounce back, and easily the best Craig Bond picture. Emotional depth and all.
Joe Baltake
Sam Mendes' 'Skyfall': sleek, slithery, sensual
Richard Corliss
The cool accomplishment of Skyfall, 23rd in the Broccoli franchise, is that it seems a necessary, rather than mandatory, addition to the year's popular culture.
Christopher Orr
Among the most ambitious imaginings of Bond to date: dark, supple, and punctuated with moments of unanticipated visual brilliance.
Rene Rodriguez
Mendes' approach to action is classical and elegant - no manic editing and blurry unintelligible images here - but what makes the movie special is the attention he pays his actors.

Die Bond Die First I would like to say I was not a fan of the first two Bond movies. To put them in order I would actually say for this Bond it's Been 3 2 1. I found that this story really goes back to the Bond roots. With all the classic concepts and props to go with it. The movie has intense action and a fast pace with easy to follow story. Unlike Casino Royal, where you really feel the 2 1/2 hours, this movie flys by. When it's over you get that classic Bond feeling of closure but know that more is on the way.

Good visuals, weak story The plot seems to be filled with episodes which are clearly supposed to bring depth to the story and yet are underdeveloped and lead nowhere. Rich visuals compensate somewhat, but not completely. Furthermore, for anyone in the programming profession, there is enough computing nonsense to seal a rather unfavorable impression.

Best Bond in quite a while The series has gotten lackluster the last few installments. I am a fan of Daniel Craig but he had yet to bring me what I was looking for in a bond. This movie changed it entirely. I overall enjoyed this film. I was expecting a disappointment and I was amazing this was a epic film in my opinion. The characters are deep and the acting is excellent in my opinion. Probably my favorite film of 2012 and perhaps the decade so far. I recommend

Worth watching, but... This is a good movie but for me it isn't Bond. Connery and Moore are the two best Bonds, in that order. The old Bond movies had a touch of humor and showed refinement. Like when Connery was able to taste some wine and guess the year it was bottled. It's those little things that make it a 007 movie. Where's the cocky confidence? This Bond never smiles. If this wasn't a Bond film I'd give it a 4. It's a good movie but it lacks the details that make a James Bond film.

I remember watching 007 movies with my father when I was very young. Dad liked them, I liked them, but they were cheesy and far fetched. The last three films with Daniel Craig have been nothing like the 007 films of the 70's, 80's, or 90's. These are bona-fide action thrillers with believable stories and EXCELLENT acting. WATCH IT. LOVE IT!
Best Bond Fans familiar with the Bond franchise will see enough clever and well-placed nods to the Bond films of old to keep them fangirling through the entire movie (i know i was.), and newcomers have a treat as well with a spectacular cast that works well together, and a refreshing, well written story that makes this quite possibly the best Bond film ever. My new favorite..

Craig truly arrives as the Spy Everybody Loves A spectacular "return to form" for the character of James Bond. Chock full of nuances and homages to the old stories and series (without being pedantic), this one simultaneously goes in the new directions we've come to expect from Daniel Craig playing the role. The old and new collide as Bond truly resurrects himself in the "brave new world" presented by today's technology and crises. Highly recommended.

Simply one of the best From the bond catalog i would say this will rank #3 behind Dr No and Goldfinger, but above Casino Royale... Sam Mendes (director) and Roger Deakins (cinematography) are a perfect duo infusing their own touch but keeping what all bond fans love from our suave spy. Gorgeous to look, action to boot, and one of the most devilishly sweet evils (bardem)... Daniel Craig surely is staking his claim why he is #2 bond of all time (sorry, but connery still the one)

Barely passable for me "Bond girls" average around 48 years of age when one counts Dame Judi Dench. She is a serious actress, but this is not Oedipus Rex. The other two female leads, Marlohe in particular, make neither memorable characters nor, oddly enough, eye candy. The final smash-em-up is a low-stakes local affair, however noisy. Plot holes usually would not matter in a Bond film, but this one seems to pass itself as a part-time psychodrama, so incoherence rankles. Some decently choreographed fighting early on. Locations are ho-hum. Craig is a charmless Bond. Bardem is a good villain, but that is not enough.

Remarkably appalling Skyfall is truly an awful film, and a tremendously disappointing deviation from what the new James Bond movies were shaping up to be. I'm not suggesting that the first two films in this new generation demonstrate artistic genius, of course, but they are certainly several orders of magnitude better in every conceivable way than this latest atrocity. The theme of old (the "old way" as well as the physically old characters) beleaguered by new feels contrived and awkwardly permeates the entire film.

OO7 at his best! After a nearly 4 year layoff james bond returns in arguably his best. Craig plays Bond the way Fleming intended but with a touch of dry wit this go around. The film looks beautiful in every scene & the action is 1st rate. Also the story, villain, & "Bond" girls are top notch! The perfect OO7 film!

Amazing! Altulough craig isnt the best bond (in my opinion) this is the best bond film due its complex character portrayals (notably javier bardem's villain) rather than stereotypical russian/communist antagonists. Showing how the job effects Bond has never been seen before (he always seems to escape unscathed with some little jest being said before such an action), so I look forward to Bond 23!
