James Berardinelli
As far as live-action reimaginings of fairy tales are concerned, this is one of the more inventive ones and is unquestionably better than 2011's Red Riding Hood misfire.
Richard Roeper
Vastly superior to Mirror, Mirror in every way. Great work from Charlize Theron.
Christopher Orr
Sanders does not (yet) share Guillermo del Toro's gifts, but he, too, has an eye for the beautiful and the grotesque, and for that entrancing borderline where the two meet.
Lisa Kennedy
Only Bob Hoskins as the blind seer Muir comes close to making us care. We can almost glean Snow White's heroic possibilities through his clouded eyes. As much as we'd like to, we certainly can't...
Peter Rainer
Some of the fairy tale effects are marvelous; but the odyssey from darkness to light is unduly long and sloggy, and Stewart, with her contemporary edge, seems to be acting in the wrong era.
Elizabeth Weitzman
"Snow White and the Huntsman," a solemn but mostly savvy rewrite, is a welcome upgrade.

Good movie I actually only like the scenes with the evil queen. You sort of feel sympathetic for her because of the curse that was cast upon her. With that being said without charlize theron I dont think it would of held up right? I thought rose McGowan shouldve been snow white since she is badass or Catherine zeta jones as the evil queen since she has an edgy look to and can play dark and mysterious also.

Waste of Time!!!!! This is one of dumbest movies I've ever seen and I've seen "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes". Charlize Theron could not save the entire movie. She was awesome!!!! as the evil queen. The plot, sub-plots were all stupid. My friend was done when the white horse suddenly appeared out of no where to whisk Snow White away. I held on hoping it would get better, it didn't.

Trolls are awesome One star except for the cool scene with the troll, the dark forest, and the imaginative fairy glen. Charlize Theron did a great job despite some bum lines. Of course Kirsten Stewart didn't fail to disappoint. Though she did manage to keep a morose expression through the whole movie, that takes talent right?
Visually stunning average story Visual effects were awesome!! Kirsten should not have played this roll. Even when she is trying to be warm she comes across as cold and emotionless. You're and actress, move your face!! Also one of the dwarves had horrible delivery of his lines, they stood out like a saw thumb. The story started out interesting and developed into another blah blah blockbuster. Not very interesting. On a positive note the Florence song during the film credits was amazing!
Another Great Disappointment I am very glad that I only rented this movie and did not actually purchase it. The plot was incredibly cliché. I was never a fan of Kristen Stewart (although I did see her in the Runaways) and this proves yet again she has NO TALENT! And for the fans of Stewart who believe those offering bad reviews for this movie because of her lack of an acting ability are really having a childish reaction to our opinions. Think about it - you're saying such things only because we don't like her acting. Silly response.

Sad Wow dont quite know what to say. The visual effects are cool in this movie but I did not care for the storyline and I did not like how it did not have a real ending it was kind of more of a set up for a 2nd one that will probably never be made and they could have replaced kristen with a claymation doll cause her face has only three expressions stoned, duh and don't you love how hot I look when I don't bathe, seriously I thought maybe all the twi haters gave her a bad rap and this would be her chance.

Dark and gritty Very much more of a "Grimm's Fairy Tale" feel. Dark and earthy. And love the twist of 'true loves first kiss' releasing her from the apple's deadly bite. Not your "Disney" version. :-) Definitely a very good revamp. I put up there with the reworked "Romeo & Juliet" starring DiCaprio.
Poor movie I usually try not to pay attention to reviews because sometimes people are just over critical. After watching the trailers I really hoped this movie would be one of those times. I ignored a lot of what was said because I really wanted to give it a chance. After falling asleep 20 minutes before it ended its safe to say many of the reviews are correct. Many of the scenes were just corney. Hardly any action. The story was just weak. It just never came together. Wouldn't recommend it.
Seriously Sorry Kristen Stewart should not be allowed to portray anything but a robot henceforth! Story line was incredibly drawn out and the dwarves were an insult! Next time you want to make a fantasy movie about walking call Peter Jackson!
Hope for the best. And got Kristen sterward, this was the first movie I went to in 10 years.so disappointed I now people or K.S. hating but there rite.she ruined a rock leadgoin and if e erybody wasn't such cap lover's thay see how bad an actress she is
Big let down I try to give things a fair chance but I think it was poorly written and poorly directed. A true shame cause I really looked forward to seeing it from watching the trailers.
Awful movie Kristen Stewart was dreadfully miscast in this movie and it was poorly written.
Starts strong ends weak. Kristen Stewart as Snow White was the weak link. No emotion whatsoever. she brings a, made for TV after school special, level of acting to an otherwise good movie. I was into this movie until the "storm the castle" scene with 20 or 30 people...just a weak ending. Sorry I bought it. Worth a rental. Thought that Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth carried the movie.
