Richard Brody
The movie is merely a joke-stoked soap opera; its bare-bones plot leaves the characters unrealized and the situations undefined.
Eric D. Snider
The film seems to think that we will find something entertaining about Darcy just because she's played by Kate Hudson. It's hard to imagine a worse miscalculation.
Logan Hill
"Inept and implausible in almost every way, Something Borrowed is the smug rom-com answer to the Apatowian man-child comedy."
Lisa Kennedy
The movie strains far too hard to make what Rachel and Dex have done all right, as if their guilty anguish - and the movie's saccharine score - frees us to root for them.
Adam Graham
In Something Borrowed, Kate Hudson looks exhausted, as if she is as tired of wading through another one of her feckless duds as we are of watching them.
Stephen Whitty
"Something Borrowed" is something ... ew.

Even if you've got a soft spot for silly rom-coms, know that this one is as empty-headed as it gets.

not good this movie was a crappy movie. if he really loved her six yrs ago, he would've gone after her. he wouldn't have been dissuaded by some other girl who pops up out of the blue. if she really wanted him, she shouldn't have given up so easily in the beginning and would've said she wanted him. if she was really a good friend, she would've never gone after him b/c she lost her chance in the first place. nothing uplifting about this movie..a movie about weak ppl that should've figured their sh-t out 1st place
Left with a bad feeling The movie was funny and everything but I hated the main character, Rachel. This is a typical romcom where you are supposed to root for the plain Jane to win the guy but Rachel wasn't likeable at all because she ruined her life long friendship/sisterhood with some guy. The ending was pretty sad.
Dimples Really sweet movie only thing I didn't like was Ethens situation nd Darcy didn't seem that happy after Dex who was super sexy!!!
Awwwww so cute Great movie.... Funny and just wanna make you fall in love
THE BEST ROMANTIC COMEDY I HAVE EVER SEEN! Wow! A really good movie..HILARIOUS!!!, Sad, romantic, just perfect
Beautiful Soul I love this movie I watch it five time.it remind me of me cause I have a hard time saying no & Getting what I want I let the person have it.
Mrs.Muka September 26, 2011 Love it. It was more dramatic than funny. But overal it was worth the money.
Enjoyed as Much as the Book Nicely entertaining. While books usually tend to be better, this movie was great in its own light.

The hapless Cal is taken on as wingman and protégé to handsome, thirtysomething player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling). In an effort to help Cal get over his wife and start living his life, Jacob opens Cal's eyes to the many options before him: flirty women, manly drinks and a sense of style that can't be found at Supercuts or The Gap. But despite Cal's makeover and his many new conquests, the one thing that can't be made over is his heart, which seems to keep leading him back to where he began.
