Superman doesn't have enough conviction or courage to be solidly square and dumb; it keeps pushing smarmy big emotions at us -- but half-heartedly.
Judith Martin
It's the simple, earth-bound quality of the film that makes this comic-book fantasy soar.
Dave Kehr
The film is best when it takes itself seriously, worst when it takes the easy way out in giggly camp -- as it does, finally and fatally, when Lex Luthor enters the action.
Geoff Andrew
By keeping the spectacular possibilities open, through the opening scenes of the destruction of Krypton, and the subsequent growth to manhood of the planet's only son on the plains of the Midwest, the film allows naiveté and knowingness to coexist.
Vincent Canby
Superman is good, clean, simple-minded fun...
Roger Ebert
Superman is a pure delight...

Magnify James Bond's extraordinary physical powers while curbing his sex drive and you have the essence of Superman, a wonderful, chuckling, preposterously exciting fantasy.

The original, theatrical version Albeit, cleaned up nicely. This version doesn't have the extra scenes (which mess up the pace), or AWFUL "swoosh" sound effect. It's a masterpiece. £v¢|< punk kids who can't follow a movie without Michael Bay explosions, and sci-fi nerds who can't enjoy pure fantasy.
I Felt Super Watching Superman The Movie This is how you tell a story, from the feel of just watching it, the music, actors and actresses, and of course the storyline itself. Instantly you'll feel you're being told a great story and throughout the movie you'll be thoroughly entertained. The pacing, lighting, acting, music, and everything in between just screams out world class production. This is one of those few movies I come back to watch it over and over again. It's that good.
Just awesome One of the best movies ever and if you think otherwise forget you ;-)
Awesome This is what comic geeks like me want!!!!!!!!! I LOVE SUPERMAN!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY.

A fairy tale comes to life in this thoroughly original, new Disney Classic. Drawing inspiration from its classic heritage, Disney creates an inspired story unlike any you've experienced before. Filled with excitement, fun, and incredible music from the legendary Alan Menken, ENCHANTED is the ultimate fish-out-of-water adventure. For princess-to-be Giselle, life is a fairy tale -- until she's banished from the animated land of Andalasia and thrust into the very unmagical, live-action world of modern-day Manhattan. When a cynical, no-nonsense divorce lawyer comes to her aid, little does he realize that this joyful, wide-eyed innocent is about to enchant him. ENCHANTED -- the musical comedy that will have your entire family under its spell.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry, Ron & Hermione, now teenagers, return for their third year at Hogwarts, where they are forced to face escaped prisoner, Sirius Black, who poses a great threat to Harry. Harry and his friends spend their third year learning how to handle a half-horse half-eagle Hippogriff, repel shape-shifting Boggarts and master the art of Divination. They also visit the wizarding village of Hogsmeade and the Shrieking Shack, which is considered the most haunted building in Britain. In addition to these new experiences, Harry must overcome the threats of the soul-sucking Dementors, outsmart a dangerous werewolf and finally deal with the truth about Sirius Black and his relationship to Harry and his parents. With his best friends, Harry masters advanced magic, crosses the barriers of time and changes the course of more than one life. Directed by Alfonso Cuaron and based on J.K. Rowling's third book, this wondrous spellbinder soars with laughs, and the kind of breathless surprise only found in a Harry Potter adventure. Emboldened by the return of Lord Voldemort, the Death Eaters are wreaking havoc in both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Dumbledore is intent upon preparing Harry for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching.
