As for the Marigold Hotel, well, it's not the Delano. But overall it's a fine spot to spend a couple of hours.
Tom Long
Basically, there's just too much crammed into "Marigold Hotel" for any of it to have impact. It may work as comfort food for old folks, but a bit less may have yielded a great deal more.
Rafer Guzman
The movie itself is a mawkish comedy-drama-romance, but the astounding cast makes it feel like a night on the West End.
Joe Williams
"The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" is an Indian dish for day-trippers. Lacking beef or sufficient spice, it's nonetheless colorful comfort food.
William Goss
The old pros elevate Hotel's otherwise pat screenplay into that sweet spot where predictability fails to negate pleasure.
Moira MacDonald
There's little that's surprising about the film - everyone ends up pretty much where you'd guess - but that predictable quality becomes part of the pleasure of watching it, like a book that's...

Sooooo great! One must not be ageist! This could be about any group of people out of its element, each with his/her own and unique experience! All isms lump the victims into one reality. India is awesome! How exciting , how beautiful! Acting impeccable, fun, playful, deep and meaningful! Who could want more? MUST SEE!

Exotic indeed! This movie brings together some of BBC's most talented to support this happy, courageous, wholly believable film of coming of (old) age in England and India. Most British movies about India deal with the period of British rule. This is a modern, polished chrome, fruit vendors and cell phones India
my wife made me watch this she thinks it deserves 4 stars but i feel it is only an average sex and the city for geriatrics. however, Dame Judi Dench elevates everything she participates in. And bill nighy should have played his davey jones role more forcefully, like in pirates of the carribean
A pleasant surprise Love this movie! Lovely story line against the backdrop of bustling India. This movie is a classic-watch it , you won't be disappointed.
Ridiculous & Bizarre Wow, really?? Besides the brilliant actors, the story and script were awful, and the movie was poorly edited. I had such high hopes for this film, but was a complete letdown.
Solid performances The story and writing were solid (if a little predictable at times), but the acting was pitch-perfect.
