The movie is done with crispness, vigor, down-home humor, and an over-all tang of good feeling, but the pushing of buttons is the work of extraordinary calculation.
Trevor Johnston
Quite how Sandra Bullock deserved an Oscar for her one-note turn as bleached supermum Leigh-Anne is a mystery, since it transforms a potentially worthwhile character study into a grandstanding star vehicle.
Claudia Puig
Its superficiality keeps it from being the moving story it could have been.
David Hiltbrand
However obvious, The Blind Side is touching -- despite its habit of dropping major character notes into the melody without warning.
Wesley Morris
Oherâ(TM)s life is meant to make us feel good, and it mostly does. But how good we feel about his story is proportional to how blind weâ(TM)re willing to be about how itâ(TM)s told.
Elizabeth Weitzman
Writer-director John Lee Hancock has turned Oher's remarkable life into a Hollywood fable that trades difficult truths for easy clichés.

The problem with a story that's almost too good to be true is that someone in Hollywood will try to make it better.

Inspirational! I was recommended to watch this movie and was told I'll be hooked instantly since I liked the movie from Will Smith's Pursuit of Happiness. Sure enough I was engaged the whole entire movie! There were a few touching scenes because some of that stuff I can relate to and I know how it feels. Anyways, I highly recommend this to anyone who would love to watch an inspirational/drama/family movie. Enjoy!
Great football story This was a well put together film and kept my interests throughout the entire thing. It is a movie you wish wasn't over, but at the same time, it isn't because the story is based on a person who is still in the NFL.

It's about how this boy Michael Oher or Big Mike gets kicked out of his home because his cousins dads girlfriend does not want him to stay. So one night it's freezing cold and Mrs. Toughy his adopted mother takes him in and provides him with care. It is a very good movie I think who ever watches it would enjoy it as much as I did.
Amazing Awww. When i saw it in theaters it was amazing, when i saw it on here, it was perfect. It touches you in a way that is unexplanetory. Loved it.
This movie shines. Sad. Beautiful. Honest. What makes it most potent is that the characters actually exist. <3

Facing unabashed racism from every side, Robinson was forced to demonstrate tremendous courage and restraint by not reacting, instead letting his talent on the field do the talking—ultimately winning over fans and his teammates, silencing his critics, and paving the way for others to follow. In 1997, Major League Baseball retired the number 42 for all teams, making it the first number in sports to be universally retired.
