Andrea Gronvall
Squanders both its first-rate computer graphics and its sturdy international cast.
Tom Charity
Adamson barrels the action along in an even-handed manner that should keep most of the family happy.
Hank Sartin
Adamson adjusts to the darker tone nicely, but the kids, so richly drawn in the first film, often seem to be carried along in the wake of the chugging plot.
Richard Roeper
Too many fights, not enough magic.
David Edelstein
At every turn, the filmmakers go for clutter and tumult where simplicity would do -- and Adamson, to put it kindly, isn't the fleetest of action directors.
Christopher Orr
Prince Caspian may be less full of innocent wonder than its predecessor, but it is a smarter, better film. Like its young stars, the Narnia franchise has, for better and worse, grown up.

I wish I could be more enthusiastic about Prince Caspian, an honorable and attractive adventure for children and families. But scenic beauty and spirited action can't conceal its dramatic defects.

This movie was ok! The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, was one of the slowest movies I have seen in a while. Not to say it was a bad movie, because it wasn't. It was just that the execution of the movie was really slow and could of used some help. This movie is full of very cool action scenes and effects, as well as strong dialog throughout the film. This movie was definitely worth watching and I suggest renting it when you get the chance. Although this movie was really well made, it will never be as good as the first movie in the series.

As good as its predecessor As I thoroughly enjoyed the first chronicle of Narnia in film format, I was very much looking forward to the second. As I imagine the subject matter of this story is a little bit headier than the first, the movie pays tribute to that with a much more savage film (to paraphrase a line from one excellent character). It is refreshing to see the world of Narnia in a different light than in the first film, but just as the child characters are shocked by the changes, the viewer goes through the same shock and awe. This makes the film a little less cookie cutter than the first, although it is hardly unpredictable. The visuals and cinematography are breathtaking as usual; it is once again remarkable how they manage to incorporate creatures into the world in such a seamless manner that you easily forget where the real world ends. This magical property again befits a Narnia film, even one much harsher and dark throughout than its predecessor.

An Excellent Movie Worth Watching Twice! We first saw this in the theatre, and loved it so much that we had to get the DVD. Our whole family loves the Chronicles of Narnia series, and adore both the books and the movies! The cameras are supurb, the casting is very well done, and the acting is terrific, espechially during the battle scene near tge end of the movie. I would reccomend this to anyone who is a fan of the Fantasy genre!
Repeated themes and weak presentation I have not read the book, but as a film this movie has so many heavy handed "Hey, we are as good as the first one!" vibes that it really made me feel uninterested. I don't feel it added anything to the series at all. I really hope the book is much better.
Best movie ever!!!!!! This is an amazing epic adventure and the best best movie you'll ever see if you love Narnia! 5 stars!
Loved it! I think this is my favorite of the Narnia movies. Sure, it didn't follow the book exactly, but the majority of the changes were for the better. The battle scene is amazing!
