[A] respectable update.
Peter Rainer
While it loses the charm of Romero's low-budget clunkiness, it is in all other regards superior.
Ian Buckwalter
The incoherence is made all the more disappointing because Eisner displays a great deal of raw talent for the genre's tone and set pieces.
Keith Uhlich
Unlike Romero's film, what's missing is a trenchant sense of connection to our historical moment.
A.O. Scott
It's kind of crazy, but it's also pretty smart. And if your nervous system can stand it, you should see it.
Rick Groen
The blood is certainly convincing these days, but it generally flows only in the safest and most inoffensive, uncontroversial directions.

It devolves to simple run-and-hide cliches, usually accompanied by jarring musical jolts.

Watch it! If you're looking for a great horror movie with more than just slaughter, watch this! I Highly recommend.
Okayy Decent acting but needs a more in-depth plot. No real point but survival, not a lot of story or explanation going on. Overall not bad though. Good ending.

Saw V

Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) might be dead, but his traps live on in this fifth Saw entry, which finds the series' production designer David Hackl at the helm for his debut directing gig. Costas Mandylor reprises his role as Hoffman, the detective whose involvement in the string of grisly murders turns out to be more than meets the eye. Picking up where the fourth entry left off, Hoffman is revealed to be a hidden accomplice in Jigsaw's grisly games of death, which look to be continued by the lawman. The plot bounces back and forth from the beginning of their relationship to the present, as Agent Strahm (Scott Patterson) delves farther into the case. Also in the cast are Dexter's Julie Benz and One Missed Call's Meagan Good as victims of another one of Jigsaw's lessons in morality. Saw IV scribes Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan return to pen the screenplay for the Twisted Pictures/Lionsgate co-production.

In his loneliness, Owen forms a profound bond with his new neighbor Abby, but can't help noticing that she is like no one he has ever met before. The first film from music icon Slash (of Guns N' Roses fame) and the latest from the producers of THE EYE and THE RING, NOTHING LEFT TO FEAR is based on the true-life demonic folklore of Stull, Kansas. Wendy (Emmy®-Nominee Anne Heche of TV's HUNG) and Dan (James Tupper of TV's REVENGE) move their family from the big city to a sleepy Kansas town and take over preaching duties from retiring Pastor Kingsman (Clancy Brown of TV's SLEEPY HOLLOW). Unbeknownst to them, their new home is actually one of the seven known gateways to Hell. The family's quiet new beginning is savagely derailed by a charismatic but emotionally conflicted man of the cloth. Directed by the protégé of Oscar®-Winner Gore Verbinski, this heart-pounding thriller costars Ethan Gregory Peck (THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE).

Critics have called it "OPEN WATER on a ski lift" and "JAWS in the snow." It remains perhaps the most intense and terrifying film of 2010: As Sunday evening falls, three snowboarding friends decide to take one last run down the slope. Halfway up the mountain, their chair lift stops, the lights go out, and the resort closes for the week. They are stranded, but the worst is still to come. A storm is approaching. Frostbite is setting in. And on the ground below them, a pack of hungry wolves have gathered to wait. Kevin Zegers (DAWN OF THE DEAD, WRONG TURN), Shawn Ashmore (X-MEN, THE RUINS), and Emma Bell star in the relentlessly chilling thriller from writer/director Adam Green (HATCHET) that Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News hails as "a vicious, scary and horrifying experience...FROZEN is a howling good time!"

As their anxiety escalates they discover they are not alone, and this sadistic game spirals into a white-knuckle ride for survival. Costars Allen Leech (TV's DOWNTON ABBEY, THE IMITATION GAME).
