An exceptionally smart, brooding picture with some terrific performances.
Dave Calhoun
The Dark Knight is a film that's fantastic on the action front, seeds its acrobatics in its own reality, and always feels relevant even when its ideas are drowned out by clatter.
Laremy Legel
Christopher Nolan is much, much smarter than your average filmmaker.
Joe Williams
The symbiosis of good and evil is the film's philosophical core, and images of duality and cloaked identity are strewn through it like shards from a fun house mirror.
Joe Morgenstern
Christopher Nolan's latest exploration of the Batman mythology steeps its muddled plot in so much murk that the Joker's maniacal nihilism comes to seem like a recurrent grace note.
Peter Rainer
The film is so relentlessly bleak that, paradoxically, its blackness is not given its full due. But this comic-book movie is more disturbing, and has more freakish power, than anything else I've seen all year.

Watching The Dark Knight is like gazing into a mirror on a waning moon night: chilling and mesmerizing.

Great movie - so-so audio quality The actual movie is great, see the critic reviews, but this particular video has very very low audio levels. I know the movie has some quiet parts, I also have it on DVD, but this was pretty hard to listen to. I had to have headphones plugged in at max volume to hear all the dialogue, and even then some parts were still too quiet.
Exceptional As always christopher nolan did a wonderful job with this movie the only thing that I would Change would be Batmans voice. I know it's supposed to hide Bruce wayne, But then again superman doesn't even have a mask and nobody recognizes him. They could have just gone along that same way.
The best thing about batman are the villains and this film has his toughest adversary in the Joker. Joker can't be bought or bullied and is a master manipulater. Just that alone would've probably made it a good movie but they cast heath ledger as joker and thoroughly put this movie over the top. Few scenes with him you actually get goosebumps and just from his facial expressions and voice you can tell he really found the character. Probably the best super hero movie I've seen and is worth a buy.
Incredible. This has to be one of the best movies ever made, in every aspect. For those of you who think it's boring and overrated need to pay attention. Movies can be boring when you don't understand them. I've seen this movie dozens of times, and I still don't fully understand everything. Fantastic acting, cast, and effects.
"Im Batman" I love the direction Christopher Nolan took with the whole Batman series. It made Bruce Wayne seem more of a real character, more grounded. So anyone who could gain a mass amount of wealth, training and discipline can be Batman. Just don't know how your city would react to vigilantes. Funny how no one ever suspects the rich guy in the big mansion on the outskirts of town.

Great Tbis movie is claasic af and dies the b3st job of creating the imafe of tbe joker an completely maniacal psychopathic killer. Nolans jiker is an awesome mixture of original joker anr late 80's joker and Ledger did the jib of an lifetime 8n a once in a million role. However ae grewt as the this movie and this joker are I prefer th ither two over it be c ause they're stories tie together far more than this one (partially because of kedgers death) better than any non dk movie smh for other heroes

Its good But drug out towards the end. I always thought that, and I always thought joker wasn't Violent enough, lol like jack was... BEGINS is better, this movie is far too hyped due to the death of heath. Its good NOT GREAT. And dkr played out like a cheap TV show. I hated most of it. Anyway,...still wish this was better....

Joked didn't even hardly laugh in the movie!! The guy was trying to like an insane person instead of joker of the comics!! Nicholson was way better!! These movies are overrated and way to realistic!! Batman can move very fast and acrobatics is one of his best abilities. I didn't see him move at all. Boring at best!!
so laggy i'm sorry but this has been so laggy and keeps freezing up. I've watched 20 or more movies on google play and even one just minutes before this and the quality on this 1 is completely awful. After 15 minutes it has already lagged for 30 seconds or more or completely frozen 6 different times. I would not rent this is I was anyone...you're going to end up getting frustrated with this horrific quality.
EXCELLENT Movie I wanted to watch the 1st two Batman Dark Knight movies before seeing the current movie out at theaters now. I had never saw the Black Knight and was thoroughly impressed. This is a GREAT movie. The development of the character of the Joker and the battle from within that Batman faces are drawn out here in spectacular fashion. The guy who played Joker did a a phenomenal job. The movie stays true to the comic characters but adds a sense of grit and realism. This is series of DVDs I plan to purchase and keep. Very well done. Can't wait to see Dark Knight Rises.
Masterpiece Rises was good, however this is the greatest of the trilogy. If Begins was the appetizer and Rises the good but dissappointing dessert, The Dark Knight is the main course. Not only one of the best comic book movies of all time but one of the best movies of all time. Acting and cinema at its finest.

One of my favorite movies Christian Bale is great, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Aaron Eckhart. Heath Ledger made that movie the epic scale of awesome that other movies can only attempt to reach in vain. I highly recommend seeing Brokeback Mountain then you will truly understand the scope of his Ledger's ability. His death was a tremendous loss.

Best batman movie This is the best batman by far. The acting by Heath Ledger is incredible. It's a shame he died, he would've made the dark knight returns even better. The only thing that bugs me is that they didn't really kill him off at the end of the movie, you just kind of assume he goes to jail. Definitely his best movie
Horrible By far the worse batman movie ever. The only.good role was the portraying two-face. Absolutely worse joker ever. Its sad that Heath Ledger killed himself because he did such a horrible job. Christain Bails batman sounded like he had strep throat. I hope this new batman movie wasnt as horrible as the last two.
Epic. I enjoyed the whole Batman trilogy, but this one is my favorite. The thrilling action, the compelling love triangle, and the pure evil nature of the villain in this installment of the Batman trilogy made it the most entertaining of the three. There was never a dull moment and the occasional injection comedic relief rounded out this movie. Even the dark humor from the joker was wickedly amusing. The direction was superb as well as the acting (especially Heath as joker. RIP) and writing.
Awesome! Even thought i do think its not as good as the first one i still think its pretty darn amazing. Heath Ledger did a fabulous job as The Joker. R.I.P. :( Defiantly recommend it.
WOW I was speechless after watching this movie. It couldnt have been better, and was made and pushed to the absolute fullest. From Batman's first punch to the Joker's last joke, your mouth will be hung wide open and you'll be hungry for more. If you like the Batman, see this. If you dont, see this. This is more than a simple superhero movie. This is a deeply thought love story, drama with a crapload of non-stop amazing action. You wont want to miss this one. This is Nolan at his finest.
One of the greatest One of the best movies I've ever seen. Truly is sad to have Ledger pass away. His performance is truly one of the greatest of any villain to ever appear in a movie.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane. MPAA Rating: PG-13 - 2012 Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and Legendary Pictures Funding, LLC.
