Marshall could very well be the Caravaggio of the B-movie.
Jonathan Rosenbaum
This intermittently effective UK horror thriller carefully establishes the psychological relationships among the women, then squanders this calibrated and generally plausible setup with a series of...
Scott Tobias
The Descent sustains a level of intensity that most horror films can barely muster for five minutes.

For my money, [the] first 20 or so minutes are the best in the film. Once the real adventure gets underway in the cave, things get less interesting.
Geoff Pevere
While the movie has wonderful moments of unmotivated tension that make sure we're quite ill at ease from the beginning, it's also got a few too many of the kind of cheap boo-scares that indicate a...

Original. Marvelous work here. Incredibly good. Lots of scares and jumps. They are about to make a pathetic copy of this ... based in paris' catacombs the underground tunnels that sre supposed to be haunted. They literally do the same exact seen were the person is stuck and claustrophobic, the shoot it from the same angles ect. Rip off. If u want a good cave underground movie with suspense and terror. Watch this!

Descent 2 Honestly, it takes a lot in a movie for me to suspend my sense of belief and possibility and be frightened. This film satisfies on all levels of you ate looking to be on the edge of your couch in suspense and turning away from the tablet cuz the scene is just too dibialocilly gross. When the sequel first came out I had reservations because the sense of claustrophobic fear in Descent was palpable, tasting it on the tongue. And without giving away anything, some revenge is always sweet. 4 th viewing
Unforgettable From the cinematography to the storyline, this is one of the best modern horror films. The choice not to use artificial lighting created a very real experience that is sadly missed in part 2. Love it!!!
One of the best modern horrors. I'm 30 years old and have a collection of over 500 horror movies. This is by far one of the better ones. A must watch.
This is horror! From start to end. It does a good job at keeping you wanting more. I believe it's unique plot and story will impress even the hard core horror fans. Well done

Buckling under the weight of his conscience after years of parting desperate believers with their money, Cotton and his crew plan to film a confessionary documentary of this, his last exorcism. But upon arriving at the already blood drenched family farm, it is soon clear that nothing could have prepared him for the true evil he encounters there. Now, too late to turn back, Reverend Marcus' own beliefs are shaken to the core when he and his crew must find a way to save Nell -- and themselves -- before it is too late.
