No redeeming qualities Nothing about this movie wasn't bad. From the story, to the direction, editing, special effects and acting. Horrible at best, offensive at worst... One of the worst movie of not only 2013, but of all time.

Recommended for insomniacs Next time you find yourself unable to sleep, just start this movie. I have done this several times and I can honestly say I haven't seen the ending. The movie is a bunch of semi interesting action sequences that have no cohesion. The storyline is extremely boring and the characters are not endearing in the least. You'll be bright eyed and bushy-tailed after a great sleep that started 30 minutes after you began this movie the night before. Sweet dreams!

So Long and bad So disappointed about this movie you got an amazing actor Johnny Deep and we get this trash and its not the fact that its bad its like 2 and a half hours long if it was shortened 45mins or so it would been that more watchable. Now there were some exciting and interesting scenes but you had yo wait nearly 2 hours for them. So I'm disappointed at could have been.

Abomination!!!! Completely disrespects the original series! CGI was awful! Made the Lone Ranger out to be a wimp and Tonto a criminal! This set modern western movies back 50 years!

I was in creed Colorado two years ago when they shot some of this film and Johnny Depp loves Tommy knockers tavern It's a great movie I liked it and it kept me entertained threw out I was only going to watch half today and half tomorrow but I ended up watching the full movie in one setting which is hard for me to do so rent first it's a great movie

Weak... Speechless.....the movie was slow and lacked everything except being a overall weak and boring movie. Well, Depp, maybe next time....and for **** sakes take off that crow!! That was just absolutely offensive and idiotic.

Really? Was expecting better, the lone ranger was a sissy. He came off as a young female liberal intent on (like most other liberals) expecting bad people to lay down for justice and well, just because. I can understand an internal moral struggle over an act of violance, thats ok, BUT "I dont believe in guns" Really!? Its the way he said it. Revoke the man card! Im a depp fan, but his portrayal of an indian was offensive and containd alil to much of captain jack sparrow....very disappointed.
BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!! I have an addiction to this movie!! I have watched this movie 7 times the past week. I couldn't say I've ever seen a western movie as good as this. This is my favorite movie of all time, but the story line was a little confusing at some points. Johnny Depp was really good as Tonto, but Armie Hammer as the lone ranger? He could have been better. Can't wait to watch it another seven times! BEST MOVIE EVER!! Don't listen to the people who don't like it this movie is awesome!!!
Great Family Adventure film The only thing that was a little weird was the rabbits getting a little syco a couple times throughout the movie. I think that follows the line same as the mermaids being portrayed as bad or evil in Pirates of the Caribbean. An interesting, almost comical, twist for these two films. In my opinion, I thought is was fine, and looks to be a signature touch for the writers of the the films, but for younger kids, it might be harder to explain.(therefore good rating) i could could just see the delima a smaller child might have (wait, rabbits eat meat? And attack each other?) Lol. That being said I think it was minor enough to conclude that this was an excellent movie, and another fine job done!
An Entertaining Black Comedy I feel like this film gets a bad rap from most because they expect a whimsical comedy and instead got a mix of dark ideas swirled gently with comedy. Lets be clear this is a "dark comedy" which is not what is typically expected from Disney. There seemed to be just enough action to keep the movie moving at a good pace. Armi plays a convincing nice guy turned cynic and eventually good guy outlaw. Depp isn't doing his best work here but he doesn't fail either. Don't listen to anyone who calls it typical Bruckheimer fair either. They've apparently never seen a Bad Boys movie. There are a hand full of explosions but I could count them on one hand. It's also to be expected since the whole thing centers around a rail road. In general a very entertaining movie just make sure you're expectations are inline with what this movie actually is. It ain't no Little Mermaid.
Great fun! This movie doesn't disappoint. After hearing some of the critical dishing of this movie I expected a mix of special effects driven action and subpar acting. Instead I found a superbly re - imagined version of a golden-oldie. Depp' s rendition of Tonto is an authentic classic right from the start. The movie weaves past and present with virtuosity, making its points quickly and often with a comedic flair. I bought this movie outright and after viewing it I felt I had gotten a great bargain. Incredible scenery is just the start. Buy it.
enjoyable and beautiful to look at This movie got a lot of negative press and I don't want to dispute historical or cultural inaccuracies, and yes Depp is basically a native american Jack Sparrow in this. It's a bit mystifying how much money Disney threw at this, but for all that it wasn't a bad movie. It was beautifully shot in some of the most breathtaking locations in the US, and it was entertaining. What else did you expect from a Disney movie?
Full of poorly done clichés and inaccuracies The movie was horrible. The whole time youre watching, youre wondering why theyre using modern sayings and references. The characters throughout are all very poorly developed and Depps character is so woefully underachieved. If done correctly they could have thrown out the other stobrylines and made do with just his as an indian seeking revenge but instead, they add a femenine male character lead that makes the movie better suited on nickolodeon than the big screen.
Nostalgia effect.... This movie is not that bad. Along the lines of pirates of the Caribbean in story. Only older people that watched the old black and white tv show when they were kids will offer awful thoughts of the TV show being better. It's only "better" to them because it was "good" at that time. Any kid today would beg to differ as to whether the old black and white was better than this movie.
Smells like Bruckheimer, all right No majesty of The Old West. No meaningful drama. Nothing more intellectual than a whoopee cushion. Just a bunch of stuff blowing up, dialogue de fromage extraordinaire, more gratuitous explosions, and breaking of physical laws--for the sake of random action scenes--that would make even MacGyver cringe. If you put on the dunce cap, it's fun for a while. Then it feels about as fresh as reading the obits.
Great movie all around When I first heard about this movie I was pumped, and for me, it proved to be great. Critics don't know what they're talking about when they rate a movie like this. It is entertainment. Just like the original show was entertainment. Everyone wants to see the action. Are there flaws in the film? Yes, but you have to consider the story is being told by an 80 year old Tonto, so some of it may be better than it would be in real life. Just like if I was to tell you a story, I would try to beef it to keep you interested, and that is what the director did. Overall 9/10 for me. Hope there is a sequel. Full support of this great cast and awesome story.
Surprisingly good. Screw people who didnt like it. Screw the critics who destroyed it. It was just different then what people thougt it would be like. This more or less showed how the lone ranger became the lone ranger. There was good action as well. Yeah it was long amd sometimes not great but overall pleasing to watch. However the end sequence was by far one of the most well orchestrated fight scenes I have ever seen and definately one of the best accompanied by the finale music.
