Anna Smith
Even taken as simple schmaltz, 'The Lucky One' lacks the romantic impact of the adaptation of Sparks's 'The Notebook' or even the Channing Tatum-starrer 'Dear John'.
Tal Rosenberg
As long as Efron's shirt comes off, he could play an accountant and no one in the target audience would care.
Richard Roeper
Well-acted schmaltz with some gaping plot holes.
Stephen Whitty
There's not much to the movie besides handsome sets, sun-dappled photography and a plot as predictable as the verse in a Hallmark card.
Elizabeth Weitzman
[Hicks] hits the beats - lonely woman, hunky stranger - without bothering to develop even the slightest depth.
Rafer Guzman
The overheated eroticism could have at least made for a camp classic, but the film's chilling narcissism ultimately makes for a pleasureless fantasy.

I'm beginning to think writer Nicholas Sparks isn't one person at all, but a roomful of ladies doing Harlequin-romance Mad Libs.

Good movie It's not focused on war, just the fact that Logan (Efron) is an ex-Marine searching for his "guardian angel". It's sweet and not overly mushy, I think. All in all, it's a good movie that I would give a positive review and would watch again. You can tell it's a Sparks' movie.
Loved it Just finished it and loved it. Made me cry, laugh, and jealous of the people who find true love like that! Would watch it again. Zac Efron is just awesome. And soo sexy. 5 stars!
OMG. c: I love this movie so much c: The war part was just amazing and, when the love started happening I started tearing up. This is a great movie. It's now one of my favorite movies.
Nice Generally speaking it was a simple love story. A lost soul looking for somewhere to call home. Some parts were predictable, but most love stories are. This one was original m many aspects , and I enjoyed it thoroughly . The acting by Zac Efron left a little to be desired and that's why I rated it four stars . But, I did enjoy the movie and would recommend it to anyone looking for a love story.
don't waste your money! the movie is unoriginal and boring. I kept hoping something better or interesting would happen but it never did. Really bad!!
Marine Went to see this with my Wife....Horrible movie! way too cliche and as a Marine Cpl. Myself...that douche was horrible in the role as a Sgt. The title of Marine NCO is a rarely earned priviledge. And as someone whos earned it...its a slap in the face for him to have that role and ruin it like he did. Thumbs down!
GREAT MOVIE and HOT! Absolutely love this movie! Couldn't stop watching. Really great! Almost love it as much as The Notebook which is one of my favorites! The kissing and love scenes are as HOT or maybe even HOTTER than The Notebook! I'll definitely buy this!
Bad Your better off reading the book, the story line makes more sense. It's more detailed very engaging unlike the movie left out a lot of good parts from the book.
The Lucky One Good romantic comedy. Cute and predictable, though it hits all the right notes for a love story. Better than expected.
Lucky One Overall thought it was a very good movie. Interesting plot and the ending surprised me. Just when i thought i knew what was going to happen next, i was surprisingly wrong and thankful i was.
Thumbs up! Zac can pull off roles like this!_ Even thou he only said few linees out of the entire movie, I was thrilled! The book of course is nothing compared the to the finished product of this movie but it was a good movie. Oh zac so hot......looking back to hsm old days lol
Dleiw Does anyone know what this is about. Man @ war, another man died. He had a HOT wife whose husband has been killed. Man goes to see wife & while preparing to loose her husband, (after telling her husband was dead & knew he had been gone a long long time of which she was faithful, Husband dead, man here she got naked, the end. This would have made a better movie cause everyone knew he was only there to help and take care of her long time awaiting, man their, hot naked women the end! What a new story!
Perfect I love this movie so much its about how he fights for her love.i cried in this movie 3 times. I hope they have a new movie comeing out by sparks!!
Amazing This is such a good movie. With my husband being military and my brothers as well this touched me and made me cry. I love this movie

Great Book, Love the Movie The title says it all. Every girl wants to be The Lucky One; the one that gets that awesome guy and same goes for the guys. So two thumbs up. And I have to say this to the other reviewers. If you need more to the plot, just read the book. Use your imagination. This is a movie that needs to put as much information from a book to a two hour segment. Can you do that and get the audience involved/into the moment?
