Justin Chang
Nowhere near as rigorous as the "Paranormal Activity" movies it superficially resembles, writer-director David Jung's increasingly unpleasant, rarely frightening debut feature won't possess screens for long.
Martin Tsai
Why would a possessed Michael continue to operate the camera or even turn on night vision? You simply can't capitalize on a filmmaking fad by shortchanging the audience.
Jeannette Catsoulis
Dim in wits and lighting, "The Possession of Michael King" strains our eyes, spits on our intelligence and saps our generosity of spirit.
Bill Goodykoontz
"The Possession of Michael King" is more scary than original.
Jesse Hassenger
After an efficient start, The Possession Of Michael King drags, weighing itself down with genre conventions the filmmakers don't seem to understand or care about.
Rob Staeger
It's a testament to director David Jung's smart script and Shane Johnson's performance that Michael King's decisions seem largely free of horror-movie logic - the stubborn refusal to acknowledge danger, an insistence on going it alone.

YES! Watch this one. Just another possession flick right? Nope. Hard to synopsize too much without revealing plot points, but just know that this is a "found footage" flick in the best way. No shaky handheld stuff. The film follows a film maker that uses multiple cameras. So that gives us different angles and legitimate cinematic quality that sets this miles ahead of your average POV flick. In fact, its very rare that there are 1st person POV shots. Excellent writing. Excellent production, Excellent acting. I would rate 4.5 if I could since this is no masterpiece... but it gets a 5 since its certainly no 4.

Great! Although I hate "Paranormal" types movies, this has to be my favorite. Definitely watch this, it was pretty much perfect in all aspects. Not too much or too little of anything. It isn't the best horror movie of all time, mind you, but for these types of movies and especially if you like the "Paranormal" types of movies you'll find this amazing. Good work! I'm shocked that I liked it. My quote? "The best horror movie in a long time."
The possession of michael king Incredibly annoying film that uses extremely loud sound effects when something relative to the plot occurs. Omg. If your not a fan of loud noises, like myself, then by all means take a pass renting this movie. Ugh. A waste of $4.99 and possible audio trauma to my ears.

Nothing Left to Fear
Horror

The first film from music icon Slash (of Guns N' Roses fame) and the latest from the producers of THE EYE and THE RING, NOTHING LEFT TO FEAR is based on the true-life demonic folklore of Stull, Kansas. Wendy (Emmy®-Nominee Anne Heche of TV's HUNG) and Dan (James Tupper of TV's REVENGE) move their family from the big city to a sleepy Kansas town and take over preaching duties from retiring Pastor Kingsman (Clancy Brown of TV's SLEEPY HOLLOW). Unbeknownst to them, their new home is actually one of the seven known gateways to Hell. The family's quiet new beginning is savagely derailed by a charismatic but emotionally conflicted man of the cloth. Directed by the protégé of Oscar®-Winner Gore Verbinski, this heart-pounding thriller costars Ethan Gregory Peck (THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE).

This critically acclaimed Sundance breakout is hailed as one of the best horror films of the year. On one of their first dates, Tom (Iain De Caestecker of TV's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D) and Lucy (Alice Englert of BEAUTIFUL CREATURES) drive to a music festival in a remote countryside village. But when they leave the main road to look for their hotel they quickly become hopelessly lost. Misleading road signs send them in circles and soon night sets in. As their anxiety escalates they discover they are not alone, and this sadistic game spirals into a white-knuckle ride for survival. Costars Allen Leech (TV's DOWNTON ABBEY, THE IMITATION GAME).
Frozen
Horror

Critics have called it "OPEN WATER on a ski lift" and "JAWS in the snow." It remains perhaps the most intense and terrifying film of 2010: As Sunday evening falls, three snowboarding friends decide to take one last run down the slope. Halfway up the mountain, their chair lift stops, the lights go out, and the resort closes for the week. They are stranded, but the worst is still to come. A storm is approaching. Frostbite is setting in. And on the ground below them, a pack of hungry wolves have gathered to wait. Kevin Zegers (DAWN OF THE DEAD, WRONG TURN), Shawn Ashmore (X-MEN, THE RUINS), and Emma Bell star in the relentlessly chilling thriller from writer/director Adam Green (HATCHET) that Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News hails as "a vicious, scary and horrifying experience...FROZEN is a howling good time!"

Buckling under the weight of his conscience after years of parting desperate believers with their money, Cotton and his crew plan to film a confessionary documentary of this, his last exorcism. But upon arriving at the already blood drenched family farm, it is soon clear that nothing could have prepared him for the true evil he encounters there. And friends who vividly remember youthful terrors reunite to fight It.
