Excellent and insightful A traveling documentary about two friends going around the world lecturing..two friends who happen to be scientists with a love for knowledge and a mission to challenge beliefs no matter how firmly held. The movie features guest commentary from notable atheists such as Tim Minchin, Stephen Hawking, Cameron Diaz, Ricky Gervais and culminates at the Reason Rally where several speakers are featured. Show it to your religious friends so they have a better understanding of what atheism really is about.

A nice quick documentary on the movement toward reason While it isn't informative about the topics specifically, it is a good look at what is going on and seeing just how big the movement is and who supports it. It's somewhat encouraging seeing some of these celebrities and notable people talking about their views. If you're looking for a film that discusses the issues in depth, then it's going to fall short. If you're looking for a film that gives you a glimpse of the push to have people be more rational with their thoughts, then you'll find it worth while to watch. For me, it was enjoyable and showed me a behind the scenes look at some of the conventions that these great minds attend and the talks that they give.
Loved it It's a very well done documentary, exploring the busy lives of these two great scientists. A must see for any audience. An inspiring film. Loved it.

How to Survive a Plague
Oscar nominated for Best Documentary! Particle Fever
Imagine being able to watch as Edison turned on the first light bulb, or as Franklin received his first jolt of electricity. For the first time, a film gives audiences a front row seat to a significant and inspiring scientific breakthrough as it happens. Particle Fever follows six brilliant scientists during the launch of the Large Hadron Collider, marking the start-up of the biggest and most expensive experiment in the history of the planet, pushing the edge of human innovation. As they seek to unravel the mysteries of the universe, 10,000 scientists from over 100 countries joined forces in pursuit of a single goal - to recreate conditions that existed just moments after the Big Bang and find the Higgs boson, potentially explaining the origin of all matter. But our heroes confront an even bigger challenge - have we reached our limit in understanding why we exist? Directed by Mark Levinson, a physicist turned filmmaker, from the inspiration and initiative of producer David Kaplan and masterfully edited by Walter Murch (Apocalypse Now, The English Patient, The Godfather trilogy), Particle Fever is a celebration of discovery, revealing the very human stories behind this epic machine.
