The Wolf of Wall Street is a magnificent black comedy: fast, funny, and remarkably filthy.

Man, does this movie have a savage bite.

I couldn't buy it, and couldn't wait for the hollow spectacle to end.

It's hard not to feel there is a better revisit of Scorsese's crime gem already in theaters, David O. Russell's American Hustle.

Not Scorsese's best work Leonardo DiCaprio was perfection in this role he should've won over Matthew Mcconaughey who was okay in Dallas Buyer's Club, this movie was a little long and felt to much like Goodfella's which isn't a bad thing. But the reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because of Jonah Hill, I mean I am a fan of his but I understand why he only made $60,000 for this role, but that's just me.
Pretty Blah. Looong. For a Martin Scorsese movie, it's unimpressive. At 3 hours long, it gets pretty draggy after the 1st hour. And then the only reason to watch the rest is the hope that Scorsese might have done something great down the line and there's some nudity. At the end, it's nothing special. Typical Hollywood jargon. That great Scorsese filmmaking never comes to fruition.

Disappointing While there was a lot of hype for this movie I found it uneven, overacted and way too long. The nearly three hour movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio who is much better in Django Unchained then he is in this movie. He is almost overacting in this role which is based on a real story and charcater who makes a cameo at the end. The sex, nudity and swearing goes way overboard. Believe me I love movies like this and Martin Scorsese is one of my favorites but this one is not.

My New Favorite Movie! This movie grabbed my eyes and ears less than 2 mins into it (which is very rare for me), and did not let go until the end. It made me feel everything: Happiness, sadness, anger, jealousy, pity etc. It is a movie about greed, power and pride, and is packed with sex, money, and drugs. And I mean PACKED. So not everyone may enjoy it. But it is a true story about a financially elite man, and his privileged lifestyle. Excellent Movie All Around!

Superb Acting but... This film should borderline have been NC-17. There's more T&A in this than your average softcore thing on HBO. Drugs, sex, money, more drugs, and a boatload of bad decisions. Fiance and I had several "WTF" moments while watching the film and in fact finished it only out of morbid curiosity. That said, the acting was absolutely top-notch. I sincerely believed that Leo and Co were on the drugs that they took, the accents never lapsed, and the scenes were very believable. Would never watch this movie again.

More is not always better This movie ran way too long, and I was looking at my watch about 50 minutes into it. I wonder if any film hit the floor in the editing room. It felt like all this movie did was glamorize "Sex, Money and Power". If that's your thing, there are much better executed instances of this blueprint within Scorsese's existing library. I was also shocked that this was a nominee for Picture of the year. Sex drugs and power are not enough for what I call a good movie, good acting and a balanced storyline are also important in my book. :-(

Good acting and a great time I loved the movie and would consider it a must watch. Beware though keep this one to yourself and friends don't expect to have a family movie night with this film..would rate 5 stars however the film lacks a moving/inspiring plot. Then again I feel like its more than a 4 star film because of the amount of fun it was watching. Overall a great ride that will corrupt your children's brains and give you some of the best laughs at the same time!
Pretty good, but not Scorsese's best tho It was good i thought it was pretty slow for the first hour but after that it keeps getting better and better good.Scorsese movie isnt his best but better then some of his other movies definitely does NOT compare with goodfellas or the departed or gangs of new york

The new Hollywood trend Amazing cast, oustanding acting, solid script, desperate delivery. I don't consider myself conservative but, this hyper sexualist, high drug content delivery, meant to emphazyse the issues of modern society; rather than hitting the mark as an issue, make it's content rather attractive to the audience with the possibility of joy when not caught by consequences. It is sad to realize that the only reson to exagerate sexual exposure and drug abuse, its to attract the morbidity of the audience.

Where's the story? While providing glimpses of greatness, this film felt like a string of captured awkward moments rather than a story. It could have excelled if one of the editors could have slapped some sense into Scorsese and dropped 35 - 40 minutes off the agonizing three hours of pointless dialog and over-the-top debauchery. I liked DiCaprio's first go around with this character in Catch Me If You Can. At least in that offering I cared what happened to him, rather than despised him for wasting my time.

vulgar display of greed Shows how greed and drugs turn people ugly. Not one character in this movie that makes you feel good. Didn't laugh once, didn't feel good once, didn't learn anything = waste of time (and since it's a long movie, lot's of time wasted). I watched it until the end hoping for something uplifting at the end but it didn't come. Good acting but lot's of foul language. This movie also failed to show where does all the money on Wall Street come from. It missed the opportunity to show how amateur investors lose their hard earned money and the consequences because of the promise of big returns by the Wolf's greedy gang.
Terrible I'm a gentle critic in that if the movie provided entertainment, then I'm a happy audience member. But this was the most disappointing performance I've ever seen. I paid to see a movie not a slew of disgusting, trashy men having sex with prostitutes in every scene. Actually, I'm confident an independent porno film would have a better plot. It was tasteless and I wish I could un-see the entire thing.
Slightly disappointed There was so much hype for this movie that when I actually saw it I was a bit let down and somewhat unimpressed. Leonardo Dicaprio and Jonah Hill were amazing in their acting abilities, if not at some points in the movie a little awkward when playing out these sometimes long and embarrassing drug scenarios. Overall not bad, but also not what I had been led to believe I would be watching. Overall it was indeed entertaining, and some parts much more so than others. I still think people need to go and see it

Very good!!! Before you decide to watch it you may want to take into consideration that this movie is 3 hours long, with that said, you have to find an uninterrupted span of time where you can watch it and enjoy it the most. The three hours pass by very quickly!!!! This movie is hands down maybe one of the best I've ever seen due to the excellent script and the great actors that portray their characters extremely well!!!! So I give this a must watch review!!!!

wolf of... is similar to Scorsese classic movie "Casino" I find this Scorsese movie similar to one of his classic movie "Casino." This is just modern version of 1995 Casino. Casino Starring R.De Niro, Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone. On the other hand Wolf of Wall Street starring Leo. DeCaprio, Jonah Hill and Marget Robbie. DeNiro and DeCaprio both ambitious for $$$$$ in the movie. DeNiro created a Casino empire, where as DeCaprio created stock company empire. Both had great life, good money, good friend, good wife, and kids for a while. In both movies after a successful couple of years into marriage, they started hating each other and marriage come to an end. In Casino Sharon stone started doing more drugs and in Wolf of Wall... Leo stopped for a while and started doing again. In both movies, companions were fighting for their who gets to keep kids after divorce. In both movies, (Jonah Hill in Wolf of Wall... and Joe Pesci in Casino) main character friend was doing the dirty work. There are more similarities in these two movies of Scorsese. I cant believe Wolf of Wall St.. is based on true story. The wolf of wall... feels like a fabricated from Casino, with few changes.

Her problems aren't helped by her best friend Angela (Mena Suvari), an aspiring model who is quite beautiful and believes that that alone makes her a worthwhile person. Jane isn't the only one who has noticed that Angela is attractive: Lester has fallen into uncontrollable lust for her, and she becomes part of his drastic plan to change his body and change his life. Meanwhile, next door, Colonel Fitts (Chris Cooper) has spent a lifetime in the Marine Corps and can understand and tolerate no other way of life, which makes life difficult for his son Ricky (Wes Bentley), an aspiring filmmaker and part-time drug dealer who is obsessed with beauty, wherever and whatever it may be.
