Keith Uhlich
When the beast finally bursts forth, the character becomes, for the most part, a digitally augmented blur -- there's no room for a performance underneath all the 0s and 1s.
Nigel Floyd
With its mist-shrouded sets, gruesome slaughter and copious CGI, this is a surprisingly respectful updating of the 1941 Universal original.
Ernest Hardy
Benicio Del Toro stars in this lushly art-designed 19th-century period film, but his beefcake-gone-bad magnetism is not enough to justify sitting through a movie that's full of sound, fury and unintentional camp -- and is still bafflingly inert.
Amy Biancolli
Actors fulminate and masticate, spit, scowl and sob; what a gas it is to watch them overact with joy and conviction.
James Adams
An ill-considered, utterly unnecessary remake.
Owen Gleiberman
The Wolfman, hokey and uneven though it is, [has] the kind of authentic emotional hook that too many horror movies today don't have.

Benicio Del Toro pulls off a nifty trick in The Wolfman: He makes turning into a werewolf look as dull as doing your taxes.

For diehard werewolf fans only It took me a long time to get around to seeing this film. I heard so many bad things about it that I put it on the bottom of my movie list. When I finally saw the film...I loved it. What people that hate this are comparing it to...I don't know, but this is a great werewolf movie that pays homage to the original while adding it's own flavor. If you are a fan of the genre, I really can't see you not liking this film. The 1941 version was laughable and graded on a curve, but this version does it justice.
Complete Disappointment! One of the worst films I have ever seen! This is a generic thrown together movie, where the plot is thoroughly transparent, the characters are unsympathetic and uninspired. And that sadly is worst cut of all because the actors in this movie are usually compelling to watch on screen. Don't waste your money with this, watch Underworld instead which has way better story, action, and possibly acting.
Awsome I think they should have made this into a video game where you play the role of the wolf man....I don't really like the werewolves of today all hunched over and wolf head this is what werewolves really looked like, stood up straight limbs wolf like but still looked like a man at the same time.
The Wolfman The Wolfman 1941 is a great classic. I rarely like remakes. They did a fantastic job with this movie. Well worth it.
Very Good Pleasantly surprised. Looked pretty cool on the Note.
