I wish I could give this a four and a half... Great movie till you start figuring out what is really going on then its kinda like I get it but the film makers barely pulled it off.. the end/ point where everything comes together and is supposed to make sense just feels VERY rushed. All in all very funny and great action wise. Plus I always love movies with wolverine. Watch it if you are a fan definitely worth it.

Great special effects and action packed I liked this movie alot. It had many emotions running with a deeper side to the story. Not just your boring kidnap president, blow crap up and save the day. And Wolverine becoming vulnerable to mere mortals, suspense! I like twists in the storys that go beyond expectations. Im sure if they had more time in the movie it would have maybe spanned things out more clearly. So I am getting the dvd and just remember, quit comparing it to comic books, this is hollywood baby!

Running Out of Options With a character that doesn't die or age, you start running out of options for an engaging plot after the inclusion of Wolverine in every X-men media adaptation (movie, television show and video game). The events in this film take place after "The Last Stand" and show Logan dealing with Jean Grey's death. Headed to Japan to show respects to a dying man Logan saved during WWII, the Wolverine finds himself in a struggle with...you guessed it...his own mortality...as well as a Japanese crime drama. The movie incorporates the Marvel universe characters Viper and Silver Samurai, and features several impressive sword-slicing, ninja-fighting, knife-throwing action sequences set in Japan. Director James Manigold and Hugh Jackman earn my respect for portraying the most popular mutant in new ways, but this entry feels overall like just another superhero movie. This movie received mostly positive reviews, but performed less than the other X-men movies domestically ($132 million), but significantly more overseas ($282 million) on a budget of $120 million.

Adding Depth to the Most Popular X-Men Character This film attempted to make Wolverine more relatable and provide a backstory to keep us Marvel fanboys happy. The writer's kept it true to the comics, which scores total points with me, and kept my interest. It seemed to drag a bit in the end but it left me wanting to see the sequel, if it comes out.

Not bad Certainly better than all the X-Men movies except First Class. Had some very good ideas like Wolverine actually being able to die but they didn't quite pull the end off to well. I loved the sneak peek for X-Men Days of Future Past but after seeing the trailer for it I was disappointed.

They dropped the ball big time I fell asleep, tried to watch it again, and as I write this message I cant remember one moving scene. A let down.. Best wolverine character, sucky script

Surprised... I remember reading the original 6 part comic book mini series as a kid and was worried that the inevitable changes that movies make would be destructive to the movie. Luckily, it was not that badly done. Of course it is by no means as well rounded or written as well nor is it as full a rendering as the original but with only so much time it was pretty good and the action and cinematography were very well done.
Review for Wolverine 5 The only marvel we have here is that these movies do as well as they do. Where to start? For one, this is not Hugh Jackman's best, but to no fault of his own. The X-men movies have always seemed as though they were written by someone who read a comic book once. Bad writing, outdated special effects, the list goes on and on. The problem is complete lack of respect for the source material. THE GREEN LANTERN WAS DONE BETTER. FOX has never done the X-men right, and it doesn't start here.

Less than fantastic Well to start off I don't understand how Logan can still have his memory when he was clearly shot in the head and lost his memory so how does he remember World War II this movie scenes to have suffered from a bad script and poor develop villains Wolverine is the single most important x-men character of all time maybe and we can't even get his movie right I was very disappointed to have seen this movie mostly because the fact that he lost his powers j when he's running around like a regular human 😧

" the best wolverine movie of 2013" Marvel best standalone character show what the wolverine truly made of, this movie was outstanding compare to "Origins" it show how vulnerable and emotional the wolverine has been since the death of jean grey its a movie you can enjoy too watch. And funny how this might sound its was a movie where i went back too go see it again it may have some flaws with the characters but every thing else is on point based on the japanese arc of this character. "P.S. minor spoiler wait until the end."

Bad science, lukewarm story. Not too good.... Why is it no story writer doing a movie like this seems to get even basic genetics. If the main villain REALLY wanted Logan's healing ability, well then get a blood sample, sequence his DNA, and then use a modified virus to copy the healing section of his DNA into his own. No crazy plans needed. The story was not too good either. His constant visions of Jean Greg make him look insane, and in my opinion fail to built up Logan in a way that gives the viewer a sense of connection. There is also the stream of cheesy, underdeveloped villians that exist just to be killed. The movie felt padded and dragged on. Dull.

Had good action but too emotional, ruined it for me. I love Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. He plays the character well but it seems like Batman, Ironman, and Wolverine movies are being ended by these feel sorry for myself ,crying all movie bs. If your going to stop playing the character, don't make your last movie a crying session. This movie had action but the him crying about Jean is really over stated. Yeah, we get it you miss her. We don't need 50 flashbacks. Honestly. Between Batman crying about Rachel, Ironman blowing up his suits and removing his arc reactor, and Wolverine crying about Jean I don't know whats worse. Stop ending great franchises with saad crap. Really ruined it. Plus the silver samari was a fail also, to the comic.

A Wolvie Movie Worth Seeing I've been a fan of Wolverine since the 80's and it was good to see several nods to the Claremont-Miller limited series with a very new twist. Some of Logan's worst enemies are here such as Silver Samurai, Lord Yashida, Viper (who was made a mutant for this film) and Logan's one true love Mariko and ally Yukio. This film captures a theme explored in other films "Can immortality be a burden?" although Logan isn't truly immortal. It's an interesting story of a multidimensional character. Action doesn't get sacrificed for plot and vice versa the film has a bit of a Bond feel to it and is a fun film to watch. It's far superior to X-Men Origins: Wolverine just as Dredd was superior to Judge Dredd.
Surprised Having heard and read so many bad reviews of this movie and given the sublime disappointment that Wolverine Origins was, I rented this movie with low expectations. The Wolverine however, surprised me because despite some low points (a few glaring plot holes and some cardboard acting) the film actually delivered on its promise to add some layers, contradictions, ironies and weaknesses to Wolverine. The film accomplished this in some surprisingly subtle ways without having the characters simply tell you how they feel or what they're thinking through some forced dialogue. It's definitely worth the rental and though its the best cinematic adaptation of Wolverine yet, don't get your expectations too high.

It was nice seeing Wolverine humanized/Great continuation This movie surprised me! I was expecting a mediocre Wolverine movie, but they pulled off a great one! This movie adds a lot more depth to Wolverine. I have always wanted to see more about his past. And in this movie his past catches up to him. The action, cinematography, special effects, and the acting were great. The only thing that could of possibly used some work was the story line. But even the story line wasn't bad. I enjoyed how you finally get to see who Logan would turn out to be if he wasn't able to heal. Let me just say he doesn't disappoint!

Bad action, okay storyline This movie is really bad, even horrible when talking about the action. Two big fight scenes that would of made this movie a must watch but director failed. Tell me why during those two fight Logan wore his jacket the whole time when he could of took it all. Also, when he fought the samarai, that was the worst fight ever! Storyline is good, but it can't hold this movie together.

Not Bad, But Not Great The story line was weak, and the film's progression was at times painful and seemingly lost. It was filmed as though it was based off of a 12-page comic book, and perhaps it was. Either way, this movie did have some good action and Hugh Jackman did a great job portraying The Wolverine with his haunted and angry demeanor while bringing out the redeeming "good-side" of his character. Despite what some have said, this movie isn't short on action or good acting, it's short on substance. The many dream references to Jean Grey were both awkward and somewhat confusing. Combine that with a nearly nonexistent sub plot that somehow brought in the Yakuza who end up chasing Wolverine through Tokyo and across bullet trains after crashing a Buddhist funeral. Why exactly were the Yakuza given such a prominent role for over half the movie if their part of the plot wasn't even important enough to explain in further detail? All you're given is a tiny fragment in some down played dialogue that perhaps Yoshida sort-of kinda maybe racked up so much debt that people were coming a-knocking for their money. All-in-all, I was very unimpressed. 3 stars for Hugh though since his acting is great, as always!
Just woke up This movie is terrible. People who really like this movie are die hard fans or really haven't watched any of the previous xmen films. The script is terrible. The action was a huuuggee let down. Couldn't wait for the film to be over. Normally I reminisce on movies I view as bad and try to find the positive. Nothing comes up with this. Save your money. Wait till it comes on cable tv
Surprised Truly was surprised how good this movie was, would have given it 5 stars but some dry moments plus a totally not needed sex scene. JMO...But other than that when is the sequel coming??? Plus would totally love to see a movie featuring my two favorites: Storm and Morp(I think)correct me if I'm wrong about his name. Thx again. X-Men rule. Shout out to Thor my all-time favorite!!!!
