'Total Recall' is Hollywood at its worst: pointless, witless, and so very unnecessary.
Rafer Guzman
"Total Recall" is a toned-down, smoothed-out version of an amped-up, bug-eyed classic.
Dana Stevens
This is a taut, serviceable sci-fi thriller with a couple of neat visual ideas, and if you're not familiar with either the Schwarzenegger version or the original story, the brain-bending twists...
Richard Roeper
Casting and visuals are an upgrade, but we get far too many action sequences and not enough of the mind games.
Christopher Orr
I was no particular fan of the first Total Recall, but I confess that this flat, by-the-numbers remake made me a tad nostalgic for its bombastic preposterousness.
Lisa Kennedy
Whatever tug Total Recall has on the imagination comes from the vague sense we've seen it all before. And seen it better: from Christopher Nolan's Inception to Ridley Scott's Blade Runner.

Wow! I like the way they didn't do the exact same storyline as the previous version. I don't like that there was no Richter in this version. You gotta have Richter so he can lose both of his arms in the 👽 elevator shift. I also didn't like how they made Kate Beckinsale the nemesis instead of Richter. She is hot and all, but she should have gotten a bullet to the dome like in the original. I was going to give it a 5 ★ , but now after writing this review, this movie gets a 4 ★.

Wasted Premise Of all the movies _not_ to try to cash in on the parkour fad, this reboot of Total Recall would have been the one I'd have most easily forgiven for using it, since the future city design just screams for it. Alas, that's just the first of several missed opportunities in this reboot. There are a few well crafted scenes in the movie and the irony is that movie almost does better when it slows down than tries to be action-rific but overall it simpy doesn't have enough fun with the basic mindfreak premise.

Genuinely entertaining Great action sequences. Fairly intelligent script. Decent acting. Awesome visuals. Decent, witty banter (though not as fresh or biting as the original. This twist on this version's plot is not as thrilling or imaginative as the first. However, it delivers what it presents with dazzling intensity. Recommended.

Straight Forward The movie is a pretty straight forward flick. Guy is unhappy, tries to find his way, gets answers along the way, saves the girl, rescues the city and then is happy. The screen writer felt like adding robots and lasers and explosions makes this a great movie, but it doesn't it just makes it interesting visually. Watch if you like flashy explosions and shooting with a straightforward plot that doesn't require much thinking.

Action and futurism is what we enjoy, "tech" I thought it was a great movie. I always enjoy a good action flick, especially when it displays awesome creativity in a time that could possibly resemble our future society. Over crowded cities, high tech implants, thought manipulation, crazy transportation and still lots of twists and turns. As far as I am concerned, we need a new panel of critics. You guys are worthless for talking this one down. Your comments were drifting all over the place talking about irrellavent garbage. In my line of work, your not allowed to critique unless you have the capability to do the job yourself "Seriously, go get yourself a video camera and you try to do a better job. Won't happen" It is obvious when your negative comments don't match those posted by the rest of us. p.s. I wan't one of those cars <(^_^)>

Crap crap!! This movie sucked so bad !! I seen it at the movies and I wanted to go the first 10mins but the skank I was with is easily entertained so if I wanted sex that night I better just sit through it!! so I did !! And yes I got that !! Wasted an hour and 45 minutes of my life watching this piece of crap movie to get it in !!

Special Delivery Colin Farrell shows us again, that his acting isn't only pretentious, but also sticks to a very plain and boring guide line. And that guide line is, Colin Farrell. This movie attempts to jump above and beyond that of it's original, but falls short of playing in a sand box. I would blame the director, just can't help but think, would this movie actually been better with Arnold kicking and screaming, I think so.

I liked it....Who says that changes are not good? I liked the idea that the technology in this film is more realistic today than when the first movie came out. The action was very good. It didn't need to keep with the original story line to keep you thinking. I was able to connect with this remake of Total Recall than the first one. I liked it.
This movie was great but... Total Recall is a great movie. It has loads of action, great grapics and scenery, and one great version of how our future could actually end up. The only problem I have is that I feel the characters' connection/bond toward one another could've used more work. They needed more chemistery between each other. Less scripted, fake affection and more raw emotion.
