Richard Schickel
You know a movie is in trouble when a cow provides its only moment of authentic human interest.
Todd McCarthy
Even more than with most of Michael Crichton's concoctions, this one conveys the overwhelming impression of a mechanical entertainment, a very high concept in which the characters and their problems seem like utterly arbitrary creations.
Geoff Andrew
Effects apart, this is dire: predictable, clichéd, sloppily written, pitifully performed and surprisingly short of real shocks and suspense.
Mick LaSalle
It looks real, and Director Jan De Bont keeps the action coming so fast there's no time to question it.
Kenneth Turan
An expert in making audiences squirm and twist, at making us feel the rush of experience right along with the actors, De Bont choreographs action and suspense so beautifully he makes it seem like a snap.
Mike Clark
A summer crowd-pleaser worthy of its wind.

The movie is wall-to-wall with special effects, and they're all convincing, although it's impossible for me to explain how Bill and Jo escape serious injury while staring right up into the Suck Zone of the Finger of God.

It is almost good in 2012. I loved it right now, but I got kind of scared in 2012. IIt is A great movie but I am scared in movies still. I fell like movies are too pretend. My dad just made me watch this movie every time. It is the best movie in the world I've ever seen. I love all the trailers, and it is Excellent. The whole movie made me make A movie just like Twister, this movie.
Corny but I love it I don't get it. The movie wreaks of the cliché with a story that just sickens you but I can't help myself: I love this movie. The only good performance is Jamie Gertz and while Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton and Mr Elwes cake-walk through it they are fun to watch. Hoffman is so bad he's fun. The weather lore and technology is laughable at times. But it's the spirit of the movie that grabs me. I love the 'love story'. I love Jamie Gertz's ability to hang on the edge of fear while supporting her husband to be even in the face of such an obvious fate for losing him. The excitement of when they charge into the fun makes you laugh while the ominous moan of the approaching tornado makes you shiver. This is a movie you either love or hate and both viewpoints have their merits.

Blows you away Saw this movie when it came out in theatres and immediately wanted to become a storm chaser. Years later, this is still one of my ABSOLUTE favorite movies. Even bought the soundtrack, which includes the William Tell Overature, complete with the two cast members from the movie singing OKLAHOMA over it, just as in the movie (honestly, that was the whole reason I bought the soundtrack). I will never get tired of this movie. DEFINITELY worth the time and money to rent or buy.
Best movie ever Only thing to make this movie better is to make a twister 2!!!
Incredible Action filled, nail biting movie that will have you on the edge if your seat!
Overrated. The movie is over rated. Bad plot plus good effects does not mean fantastic film.
Best ever!! This is the best tornado movie ever!! I am watchjng it right now!! I'm at the beggiming AMAZINGLY GREAT!! TOBY TOBY TOBY!!

The Tree of Life
Drama
4
The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950's. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Through Malick's signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.

"The Rite" is a supernatural thriller that uncovers the Devil's reach to even one of the holiest places on Earth. Inspired by true events, the film follows seminary student Michael Kovak (Colin O'Donoghue), who is sent to study exorcism at the Vatican in spite of his own doubts about the controversial practice and even his own faith. Wearing his deep skepticism like armor, Michael challenges his superiors to look to psychiatry, rather than demons, in treating the possessed. Only when he's sent to apprentice with the unorthodox Father Lucas (Anthony Hopkins)--a legendary priest who has performed thousands of exorcisms--does Michael's armor begin to fall. As he is drawn into a troubling case that seems to transcend even Father Lucas's skill, he begins to glimpse a phenomenon science can't explain or control...and an evil so violent and terrifying that it forces him to question everything he believes.

The Dark Knight Rises
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane. MPAA Rating: PG-13 - 2012 Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and Legendary Pictures Funding, LLC.
